Kravitz Won't Walk Aerosmith's Way |
Those reports caught the ear of Lenny Kravitz himself, who took to his Twitter/TwitLonger page to respond to the speculation: "As much as I am flattered that Aerosmith's camp would consider me to front the band, Steven Tyler is a family friend, and no voice could ever take the place of his. I hope the band stays together. They are classic. Lenny"
Rock Radio was one of the media outlets that responsibly reported the original story. They said in part, "A&R legend John Kalodner says if Aerosmith have to replace Steven Tyler, the only man for the job would be Lenny Kravitz - and even then it wouldn't be Aerosmith.... Kalodner worked with the Boston band for 20 years, masterminding their return to glory." Kalodner had to a lot say about the situation with Aerosmith and Rock Radio reported the quotes in context, the one that's been taken out context by other "media" was Kalodner saying, "I was talking to Marty Frederickson about this because he co-wrote Jaded and worked with them for ten years or so. The only person he said could even make Aerosmith anything - and I agreed - would be Lenny Kravitz."

Teargarden By Kaleidyscope will be issued independently (release date TBA) now that the band are free agents, and the Pumpkins are planning a world tour slated for spring 2010.
