A lot of news came out since Friday's report, so we have an rather lengthy report today.
Coheed Vs. Canada
Day in Rock reports: Some Canadian fans
of Coheed and Cambria are a bit miffed at the band (or rather one member
of the band) following their recent appearance in Calgary. A few angry
fans logged on to the band's official website message board to tell the
tale of how Claudio took to the stage, reportedly drunk, and started bad
mouthing Canadians and according to one fan in attendance he kept "taunting
the crowd to throw bottles at him. The stage was eventually being bombarded
with endless bottles, and it looked like the rest of the band was pretty
pissed off that this fool had ruined the show. But Claudio just kept laughing
like he didn't even give a f**k."
The band has not yet officially made a comment about the incident, but the moderator of the official message board posted this message: "Claud just f**ked up. He was having a bad day and tried to make it better by drowning himself in booze. He just happened to be in Calgary. I can assure you he has nothing against Canada (except maybe the boarder crossings)... if yesterday was in Wisconsin, the Jack Daniels in him would have probably called everyone cheese heads, in Chicago made fun of the Cubs, etc.. He was just in that zone and unfortunately some people had to witness it. [If you want to read more about the incident, click the full story link] - Click Here for the Full Story
Durst Endorses Antichrist?
Day in Rock reports: Fred Durst has checked
in on his online blog about the upcoming U.S. election and talks about
the leader he feels the world needs. It's not Bush or Kerry, instead he
describes his ideal leader; a description that may lead some hardcore Christians
(or people familiar with the doctrine) to think Durst is describing the
early characteristics of the Antichrist and how he is supposed to come
to power. (as the reader that sent us the link pointed out) We have to
give Fred the benefit of the doubt that he is sincere, but it does make
for a fun headline and some interesting speculation. Or maybe he is hoping
for the job? Here is excerpt from his posting, see the full story link
for the full text: "we don't need a new president. we don't need
the old one either. we need a true leader. someone who speaks for us as
humans sharing a planet with many breeds of the same. when a true leader
walks our land we will know, we will listen, and we will follow effortlessly.
there won't be any campaigns and there will be no marketing. this leaders
presence, words, values, integrity and heart will be desired by all of
the world. the power of faith this man will obtain, not only from people
in america, but everyone around the world, will be the reason our governments
will feel threatened and take actions to remove this person from our quest
for humanity. this leader will speak from his heart and be adored by all
walks of life. this leader will become so powerful that our constitutions
will be over ridden and rewritten to reflect a society once dreamed of
and now forgotten in our corrupt universe."[more]- Click

Brujeria Arrest
Blabbermouth reports: BRUJERIA singer
Juan Brujo was arrested for possession of an illegal weapon (machete) and
illegal drugs following the band's performance in Tijuana, Mexico on Saturday,
July 17. BRUJERIA guitarist Dino Cazares (a.k.a. Asesino, ex-FEAR FACTORY)
sent the following report to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the incident:
"The venue [in Tijuana] hired police officers as security for the concert because of the reputation that BRUJERIA has. Just before we were about to hit the stage, the police stopped Brujo for his machete that he takes on stage, they pulled him aside and questioned him, asking him what it's for and why he was wearing the Mexican flag bandana on his face. They said he was desecrating the flag, which is a major offense in Mexico. They continued to search him and found a substantial amount of a controlled substance (marijuana)... a financial compromise was agreed to only allow Brujo to perform the show but still to be arrested immediately after the band's performance and taken to jail, where he spent three days negotiating his release." Mushroomhead Dropped
Digital Noise reports: Mushroomhead singer
Jeffery Nothing has confirmed that the band have parted ways with their
record label, Republic/Universal Records.
Nothing wrote: "Hello everybody, This was for the best. We were informed from the person who signed us that we were being let out of our contract. They simply said they didn't know what to do, that they tried everything they usually try and we're a different animal... no hard feelings and best wishes. The union, which seemed great at the start, had limitations. We couldn't grow within. So now we're basically starting from a sort of square 1 for about the 10th time.. what else is new? We will continue and we will get stronger as we have every other time we've been in this position but we are not going away, we'll "NEVER LET IT GO." AC/DC Lane Challenged
Herald Sun reports: THE owner of Melbourne
institution Rosati will fight a move to rename Corporation Lane in a tribute
to rock band AC/DC.
Piero Gesualdi said the plan being considered by Melbourne City Council to call it ACDC Lane was inappropriate.
Mr Gesualdi, whose restaurant stands close to Corporation Lane, said the group had no relevance to the street. "AC/DC, as a band, has no affiliation with this area except for being belted out at 3am from a speaker," he wrote in a letter of objection to council.
"AC/DC would have no idea where this area was unless they came to Rosati for a coffee on their way to a gig," Mr Gesualdi said. [see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

If Leaked

their new album early if it's leaked onto the internet.

longer a fugitive from justice. The troubled singer returned to Los Angeles
on Friday and turned herself into police. A warrant was issued for her

Los Angeles, Love was taken to a hospital in New York City for an undisclosed
"gynecological" issue.

Xfm reports: Legendary Irish rabble rousers
The Pogues are set to reform, along with original singer Shane MacGowan,
for a series of UK dates this Christmas which will include dates at London's
Brixton Academy and Dublin's Point Theatre.
Formed in 1982, The Pogues scored a string of hit albums combining traditional Irish folk with a punk sprit, embodied by their notoriously over-refreshed frontman Shane MacGowan.
MacGowan quit the group in 1991 and while the rest of the group carried on briefly, (with ex-Clash man Joe Strummer occasionally providing vocals) they eventually disbanded in 1995. [see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

One Year Ago Today: No Zep
Reunion
Day in Rock reports: [Here is one of the
Top stories from one year ago today in the Day in Rock - see the full story
link to read the full report from a year ago] Blabbermouth.net reports:
In an exclusive interview with Britain's Sun, LED ZEPPELIN guitar legend
Jimmy Page made it clear that while he feels that rock is back, its revival
won't include a reunited ZEPPELIN at least for now.
"The group members have not actually discussed
[a possible reunion]," Page said. "Everyone thinks we're doing it and it's
really aggravatingbecause if there was going to be a tour, we'd make an
announcement. It's got nothing to do with us and it's absolutely annoying.
It won't happen until such time as we've had a chance to talk about it
musically. We'd do it quite clandestinely and see whether it's a going
concern. Just because the last project has been a success it doesn't mean
we'd be more inclined to do it." - Click
