Ozzy Vs Cowell
Mirror.co.uk reports: OZZY and Sharon
Osbourne have launched a fierce attack on her fellow X Factor presenter
Simon Cowell.
Sharon, who has accused Cowell of rigging the result of the hit ITV talent show, said: "Ozzy warned me at the beginning 'You're not going to win'.
"Even if I had The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix, I still wouldn't f*****g win."
Furious Ozzy, 55, said: I'll break his f*****g nose.
The row has been simmering since Cowell branded the Osbournes' daughter Kelly "ugly and talentless".
It boiled over after Sharon became convinced that she had been "stitched up" by Cowell on the X Factor. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Van Halen Breaking Up
Melodic Rock reports: Rumors flared again
last week after Hagar appeared on US radio station KSHE, stating in an
interview that he thought the Van Halen re-union was fun, but it bought
closure to that chapter. He went on to voice his unhappiness with the high
ticket prices from the tour and how he wished some members of the band
were into fan interaction as much as he was. It was implied that once the
current dates were completed, Hagar would return to touring with The Waboritas
and the future of VH would again be up in the air.
What really is going on? What's next for Van Halen?
The reality is that at this point - no one knows. But I for one am not hopeful of anything continuing once this leg of the 2004 tour concludes.[see full story for a lot more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Ashlee Lip Sync Excuse
liveDaily reports: [A bit of a follow
up to the story in yesterday's Day in Rock about Ashlee Simpson's lip sync
adventure on SNL.] In a Monday (10/25) interview on New York City radio
station Z100 FM, Joe Simpson, Ashlee's father and manager, said that he
convinced Ashlee to use backing tracks when acid reflux caused her vocal
cords to swell.
"[Ashlee] sang in the rehearsal--there's a full rehearsal right before the show, which is with a live audience--and by the end of that time she was so scratchy and her throat was hurting her so bad she started crying," Joe Simpson said. "We called ... her doctor in L.A.; he said, 'Don't let her sing.' I said, 'There's no way I can not let her sing--we've got to sing the show.'
"So we made the decision to pull up backing tracks to help her push through the song, because otherwise she would've sounded just like a frog--and no one wants to hear a frog on 'Saturday Night Live' unless it's a skit." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Zep Bio To Air
Day in Rock reports: A&E Networks
will show a Led Zeppelin edition of their Biography program on Dec 1st.
Here is how the show is being billed: The story of the top rock band that
got its name when drummer Keith Moon predicted how the band would go over
with audiences after hearing their demo tapes. Led Zeppelin's first album
reached number 10 on the charts in 1969, and their popularity continued
to grow with each subsequent album. But they were among the most hedonistic
of all rock bands, and their indulgences led to a series of tragedies that
ultimately broke up the band. However, they rank second only to The Beatles
in sales. [see full story for more info]- Click

for release on November 16th. Sandbox spreads 31 songs across two compact

combos-- most notably, Treat Her Right and Morphine. Sandman masterminded
the concept of "low rock," the slide-bass/sax/drums/no-use-for-a-goddamn-guitar
setup that scored Morphine a handful of minor modern rock radio hits back
in the mid-90s, in addition to the time-honored bounty of critical acclaim,

Roxy Saint DVD
press release (m80) reports: She's not
signed with a major record label, her songs are not on the radio, her videos
are not wall-to-wall on MTV. Nevertheless, five of ROXY SAINT's videos
are in the Top 30 of iFilm's Top Rock/Pop Videos of All Time.** Her video

this - since February, iFilm alone has streamed "on demand" nearly a half-million
requests for her videos.
A Los Angeles-based singer, musician, guerrilla filmmaker and performance artist, Roxy Saint is confrontational, provocative, flirtatious, and sexy. Her debut release, the DVD The Underground Personality Tapes is currently available at her own www.roxysaint.com, and will be in-stores November 2, 2004 on the Star Blue TV label with national distribution through ADA. While Roxy was offered traditional record deals, she turned down all offers down, opting instead to do things her way - the DVD. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Fear Factory Keep Busy
press release (chipster) reports: FEAR
FACTORY is on a mission; a mission to infiltrate America's infrastructure
by way of numerous multimedia channels. Having already circled the globe
twice in support of their acclaimed Billboard Top 30 charting Liquid 8
Records debut Archetype, which has moved over 100,000 units in its relatively
short shelf-time, the band is gearing up to invade North America's stages
once again, this time co-headlining with aggro-metal incumbents Lamb of
God. However, this is merely the tip of the proverbial iceberg for one
of the hardest working bands in hard rock today.
A subsequent video for "Bite The Hand That Bleeds" was recently filmed and includes excerpts from Saw in a conceptual fashion. Look for it on hard rock video programming throughout the country very soon.
FEAR FACTORY's next endeavor will be released on November 16th in the form of a CD Maxi Single with Bonus DVD EP, entitled Bite The Hand That Bleeds And Related Archetypal Imagery. [see full story for more info on this including bonus material and for the current tour dates]
Simultaneously to this, FEAR FACTORY is working on an upcoming covers album of tracks that influenced them over the years, and they are hammering out ideas for the inevitable remix version of the Archetype album "a concept the band is famous for."
