Reznor Speaks
The PRP reports: [Trent Reznor posted
a lot of info on the forthcoming CD, here is what he had to say about Dave
Grohl's involvement in the CD] There is a much less refined approach to
most of this record and I wrote a lot of the tracks envisioning powerful
live drumming: enter Dave Grohl. Working with him has been once of the
most inspiring and exciting experiences I've had in the studio. The tracks
he's played on (all fifteen), have come alive in a "better-than-I'd-even-hoped-for"
type way. The rest of the music I'm playing myself.
We are tentatively mixing the record in October and tracking, treating and thinking from now until then. That means the record comes out early 2005 and we will tour extensively worldwide to support it. [see full story for Trent's full statement]- Click Here for the Full Story

Cannibal Corpse Accused of
Racism By Canadian Authorities
Metal-Rules reports: Prior to CANNIBAL
CORPSE's appearance at The Opera House in Toronto this past Saturday, July
10th, The Hate And Morality Department of the Metropolitan Toronto Police
Department contacted local promoter Noel from Inertia Entertainment saying
that he would be charged if the show took place.
Here is Noel's statement that was posted on the Brave Board at BraveWords.com:
So, I woke up to a phonecall Friday Morning from The Hate And Morality Department of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Department. They told me I would be arrested and charged under Section 319 of the Criminal Code of Canada if Cannibal Corpse performed in Toronto. They also told the Opera House that they would be charged as well if the band hit the stage.
So, I inquired why. I was told the band was racist. Then the Detective began citing their early records claiming they were aimed towards minorities (Hammer Smash Face, Butchered At Birth). He then told me that as well, they incite violence towards minorities and women in their lyrics. They have been downloaded, and reviewed
I told him, it was nothing more than horror movie scripts essentially. B-Movies. Slasher Flicks. You don't come down on Freddy Kruger. Or Jason, so how is this anything different? And absolutely nowhere will you find Cannibal Corpse singing anything racist. Maroon 5 Take Time on 2nd
CD
Launch reports: Maroon 5 won't start recording
their sophomore album, the follow-up to 2002's Songs About Jane, until
early next year, but they're already thinking about the future. Singer
Adam Levine recently told the Salt Lake Tribune that the initial success
the band has had is just the beginning. He said, "But you can never think
you've made it at this point. We have succeeded on many levels, but it's
so fleeting, and it can so quickly be snatched away from you. You don't
want to take it for granted at all. We don't want to slow up." -

Dylan Wine
ArrowFM reports: Word has it that if you
drink and smoke enough (cigarettes or otherwise), you're voice will start
to sound like troubadour Bob Dylan's. This could be an urban legend. Who
knows? Either way, someone took the idea and packaged it into a lovely
bottle of wine. According to Billboard.com, an Italian winery, Fattoria
La Terrazze, has developed a wine called Planet Waves, named after Dylan's
1974 album of the same name. This is not the first time the winery has
used Dylan as an inspiration. Previously, the company used a line called
Visions of J - referring to Bob's song "Visions of Johanna." [see full

Korn Go Indie
liveDaily reports: liveDaily recently
interviewed Korn frontman Jonathan Davis about a variety of topics, the
follow is where Jonathan discusses where the band plans to go from here
[see the full story link for the full interview]:
We're just taking a stance with, we did sell records, we do sell records, so they have to listen to us. So we make the records we want to make. We never had them come back and say, "Well, this is the kind of record we want to put out." That didn't fly with us. Now we're getting ready to do a greatest hits and we're off Sony, so we're free agents. And we're not going to sign to another major label; we're just going to do it ourselves. It's time for a new business model.
Music, I think, in general, totally sucks. Corporate rock now is all this pop-punk stuff that's about nothing. Nothing's dangerous anymore. Nothing has any meaning, and that's why it's not selling. Hip-hop really sells a lot because that stuff is dangerous, and it's great; it's music. [sighs] It's just an ailing business. - Click Here for the Full Story

The X-Headz Are Coming
press release reports: Locomotive Music
unleash another barrel of smoldering metal with Dirty Pounding Gasoline,
the debut album from German artists The X-Headz on August 3, 2004.
Originally a hardcore outfit formed in 92, The X-Headz redirected their sound with new vocalist Christoph Birx and the addition of lead guitarist Andreas Peters. Dirty Pounding Gasoline is an aggressive combination of hard edged guitar led metal and deep powerful vocals. The hardcore influences that brought Guido Reuss(Guitars), Mark Neschen(Bass) and Oliver Beck (Drums) together to start the band in the early 90s are still apparent, while adding a more melodic tone to their sound.- Click Here for the Full Story
