Kroeger had this to say, "I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans. I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible."
According to the announcement, Kroeger is expected to make a full recovery and the band plans to still embark on the European leg of their No Fixed Address tour which is scheduled to kick off on September 30th.
Nickelback's North American tour was scheduled to run until September 4th with a show in Durant, OK at the Choctaw Casino Event Center. The band expects to launch a new North American tour next year.

"Every year, we strive to take the festival to a new level and this year is certainly no exception," says Peter Conlon, President of Live Nation Atlanta. "With the addition of a fourth stage and this year's stellar lineup, I think we have done it again!"
The Atlanta appearance lands in the middle of Van Halen's summer tour of North America in support of "Tokyo Dome Live In Concert." On July 10, Van Halen will expand their 2015 remastered reissues series with the release of four albums: 1979's "Van Halen II", 1980's "Women And Children First", 1981's "Fair Warning" and 1982's "Diver Down." Speaking to Metal Hammer last month, Mustaine revealed he wasn't bothered about what critics thought of the album when it was first released. He said: "There were comments good and bad, but I didn't care. All I knew was that I'd stuck my flag in the ground, and from then on we were going out with all guns blazing."
Mustaine recently said his work with the San Diego Symphony in 2014 has helped shaped their upcoming 15th album, and promised the follow-up to 2013's Super Collider would be "aggressive" and "dark." Read more

Slash tells Billboard: "We're working on material. When this tour's over we'll start some pre-production, and probably go into the studio in mid to late spring and record."
He says of his new songs: "They sound very rhythmic and that's definitely something that, for me personally, I'm going for. We'll see what that turns into. It changes.
"It sort of evolves; you start out with one idea and that sort of morphs into another idea. At this point it sounds like it's going to be really awesome, so I'm excited about it." Read more

This album also sees him returning to the Celtic influence of his early solo career, as well as experimenting with reggae and ska music. The first single, "Love Is," is out now, its video shot on the roof of the iconic Capitol Records building.
The deluxe edition of the album has an interesting bonus track: "In a Broken Dream," a 1968 song by Australian rock band Python Lee Jackson, featuring a then-unknown Stewart on vocals. Those vocals were recently sampled on A$AP Rocky's "Everyday." Read more and check out "Love Is"

It's the only confirmed activity in 2015 by Maynard James Keenan and co - as speculation continues over their fifth album. They've been working on the follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days for several years, although guitarist Adam Jones predicted in March that progress would speed up after a drawn-out lawsuit was settled.
Jones said: "We would have had an album out a long time ago. We would have been taking more tours. But we've been discouraged and distracted." Read more

Last year's Sonic Highways contained eight tracks, each recorded in a different US city, and each accompanied by a documentary about that city's musical heritage, while previous outing Wasting Light was recorded using 20th-century equipment in a lo-fi setting.
Now Hawkins tells the NME: "It's not enough to just make a f***ing record any more. It used to be a simple process of writing a batch of songs, recording them and putting them out. You'd make three videos. If they were good MTV would play them and you'd sell some records. Now you need to do something different."
The drummer says it's all Grohl's idea: "Dave wants every record we make from now on to have some sort of concept around it, whether it's as large as Sonic Highways or as simple as, 'Hey, let's record Wasting Light to tape in my garage.'" Read more

This cover of "Panama" wasn't exactly Gaga's doing, as it was during a show of her long-time friends, the band the Dirty Pearls, at New York's Gramercy Theater.
For the majority of the clip, Gaga dances around in her underwear, happy to provide the cover song's much needed '80s attitude. But a couple minutes in, Gaga gets her chance to sing, falling short of both faithfulness and inspiration.
Where Gaga excelled was in her antics, particularly her headbanging. Mid-way through the clip, Gaga forms a make-shift huddle with a couple of the band members, shaking her bleach-blonde hair to the anthemic song's rhythm. And if that wasn't enough, she also spit some sipped liquid at the crowd, losing a few punk points for gently throwing the open container into the audience, rather than tossing it with abandon. Saxon launched the tour in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 17 and the theft happened after their final gig in the US - at the House Of Blues in Los Angeles on May 30. Included in the items missing are a Canopus snare drum bought for Glockler by his wife as a wedding gift.
Glockler says: "Gutted and furious does not even come close to how I am feeling. Our crew assures me all the gear was packed up ready to be collected, so sometime between them packing and the shipping company collecting, they disappeared. My cymbals were all in one case - the case made it back with a few cymbals in it but most were gone - so these were definitely taken by someone at some point.
"The cymbals were done especially for me, featuring the Saxon logo and font - so those will be easily recognizable." Read more

Explaining the technology behind the video Shinoda tells radio station Power 106: "You're able to hold up your phone and move around in the space. There's a kid that goes skateboarding by in front of you to behind you - you actually have to turn around to follow him."
Shinoda reveals he produced the album himself and while he reports he won't play many gigs under the Fort Minor name, he'll perform a solo show at the Los Angeles Exchange on June 29. Watch the new video and read more

Now it seems he was alone in his desire to work without a singer, and Guyader and Sastry have moved on. Marshall is working on a new Intervals album, which will feature Protest The Hero's Cameron McLellan on bass and former Periphery drummer Travis Orbin.
He had heart surgery earlier this year and reports he was always reluctant to move away from Intervals' all-instrumental roots. Marshall says: "In January 2015, I underwent heart surgery. I was rattled, to say the least. This was a very dark time for me, but all I could think about was how strong I was going to be when I came back, and how badly I want to make a new record.
"Months went by, as I spent day in, day out, writing new songs. It was becoming clear that the dynamic had changed and communication was at an all time low. Admittedly, that's a two way street." Read more

The Queen crest that graces the Pilsner lager was designed by late singer Freddie Mercury while he was a student at Ealing Art College in London, where he earned a diploma in art and graphic design.
Brewed in the Czech Republic, "Bohemian Lager" was born out of Plzen in the western half of the country and was previously part of the of Bohemian Kingdom back in the 1840's where it became known as Bohemian Pilsner.
The group describes the new beverage as a "golden hoppy" beer. Recorded for 1975's "A Night At The Opera", "Bohemian Rhapsody" peaked at No. 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the UK singles sharts for 9 weeks upon its initial release; it went on to become the UK's third best-selling single of all time. Skolnick tells Planet Mosh: "I enjoy being part of a guitar team in Testament, but I'm also somebody who you can give the whole track to and I'll make it happen. I kind of enjoy being in the foundation as well.
"People have heard me outside Testament, doing very different music. I've done several jazz guitar albums, and I just did an acoustic album with Planetary Coalition with some of the top world artists.
"So people have heard me play instrumental music that's very different, with musicians that aren't metal musicians. But nobody has heard me play like this. A lot of it is one guitar." Read more

As they're putting the finishing touches to what will be their 11th album, Benante says he has been blown away by the guitarist's skills. Benante tells Pop Break: "I just wanted him to come out shining and kicking ass. I think he deserves it. I think with Shadows Fall, it was his thing. With us, I think his style is a little different.
"I definitely wanted him to be aggressive in his approach. The sh*t that he's doing, it's really good. I've joked about this but it's really not a joke, he's my new guitar hero." Read more

US-born, Swedish-based mandolinist Deivert also delivers vocals and guitar, alongside Janne Zander on resonator, acoustic and electric guitars, Per-Arne Pettersson on bass and Fredrik Lindholm on drums.
Deivert says: "The whole album was recorded live in the studio in four and a half hours - no overdubs, no edits, and exactly as we sound onstage. Real juke-joint style with mandolin. We've heard no other bands with this setting doing music like this." Read more

This song 'To You' is about relationships and in this case my relationship with my girlfriend, but I guess we all go through the different stages when being in a relationship with someone for many years, the ups and downs, the good and the bad. My girlfriend and I have been together for 15 years and are still going strong. For me, it's therapy writing about things that happen in real life.
I wrote the song at home by the kitchen table where I usually write my tunes, it's good to be close to the coffee maker machine ;) I always use my acoustic guitar with nylon strings when I write because if a riff is cool enough on that guitar I know that it will be super cool on my electric guitars together with the band.
The first notes that came into my head was the intro and I called it King Crimson meets AC/DC on my recording device. The first version of 'To You' was a much more progressive thing and at least 2 minutes longer but when we recorded the album, we decided to boil the song down to the version that you hear now. We liked all the parts of the song but felt that the original idea was to long and not "snappy" enough.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album

The band had teased their return with online videos of their mascot The Guy and on Tuesday they made the return official with the announcement that their new album "Immortalized" will be released on August 21st.
The announcement included the release of the album's first single "The Vengeful One" and an animated video for the track that was made by award-winning filmmaker Phil Mucci.
The band's return dates back to January of last year when the band members met in a Chicago restaurant and a short time later began secretly working on the new album at Las Vegas' Hideout Recordings with producer Kevin Churko [Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch].
Guitarist Dan Donegan explains the selection of the producer, "The goal was to find a producer we felt creatively comfortable with, but who could challenge us and spark a new evolution. Churko did that."
Frontman David Draiman had this to say about the recording experience, "For this album, everything was written in the same room. It was wonderful experiencing how it used to be back in the day for us. That became apparent in the material, whether it was the passion of the performance, the power being harnessed, or the feelings evoked. We could feel the difference."
Donegan expects fans will be pleased with the new music, "I think the fans will feel like it was worth the wait. We've been planning this for the past year and keeping it a secret so we can't wait to hear the response. I hope fans realize we have a lot more left in us. This album reassured me of that.
"To be away from it for almost 5 years, get back in a room, write together, and tap into that fire is awesome. Part of me didn't want to leave the studio! We still have a lot more to say. We still have a lot more to do. We're returning stronger than ever. I think Immortalized shows that."
