Nickelback Singer Needs Vocal Surgery, Band Cancels Tour

. Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger will be undergoing surgery next month to remove a cyst that was discovered on his voice box, forcing the band to cancel the rest of their current North American tour.

Kroeger had this to say, "I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans. I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible."

According to the announcement, Kroeger is expected to make a full recovery and the band plans to still embark on the European leg of their No Fixed Address tour which is scheduled to kick off on September 30th.

Nickelback's North American tour was scheduled to run until September 4th with a show in Durant, OK at the Choctaw Casino Event Center. The band expects to launch a new North American tour next year.
