Axl in Velvet Revolver? Yeah Right
antiMusic reports: This is an interesting way to plug an interview. Check out this promo from MusicRadar: "I heard that too. Yeah right. Anyway..." That was Slash's reaction to the news of MusicRadar's recent poll that found fans want Axl Rose to join Velvet Revolver.

That's for sure: "I've got somewhere between 80 and 90 guitars and I'd say 75 percent of them are Les Pauls. It's ridiculous but they all have a unique purpose."

Tom Morello To Rage On The Road
PR reports: Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine is set to release his anticipated solo album, The Fabled City, on September 30th. The 11-song album, produced by Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam), is the first release to his birth name and features appearances by System of a Down's Serj Tankian and Shooter Jennings.

With more complex electric arrangements than displayed on the sparse solo debut One Man Revolution, The Fabled City is the synthesis of his groundbreaking work as an innovative rock guitarist and revolutionary acoustic troubadour. For the first time, this album bridges the gap between Tom Morello, the acoustic protest singer and Tom Morello, the guitar legend.

The tour in support of The Fabled City will display both sides of Morello's guitar prowess with both an acoustic set and full-band electric set performed each night. In regards to the format of the performances, Morello stated "On The Fabled City Tour, I will be playing both acoustic and electric guitar. I want to start off with the darker acoustic songs and then build to some of the wildest electric guitar playing I have ever unleashed on stage in my career. The idea is half Dylan/Half Hendrix. I have been practicing my ass off and can't wait to rock."

Alice Cooper Vs CBS Censors
Kayos reports: Alice Cooper, appearing on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson last night, was the victim, yet again, of corporate meddling in his rock'n'roll. It's called censorship and Cooper, currently promoting his Along Came A Spider (SPV) album, has met this particular beast numerous times during his 40-year career.

The album tells the story of a serial killer and as part of the song, Alice was going to re-enact a piece of his video by picking a female victim from the audience to choke with a silk scarf during the band's live performance of "Vengeance is Mine". (Both the album version of the song and the video feature ex-Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash.) What viewers saw was a truncated version of what actually happened. Unfortunately, the "murder" of one of his victims was just too much for CBS-TV's censors (although Ferguson loved it) and, as such, his request was denied.

Singled Out: Greg Camp
antiMusic reports: Welcome to Singled Out where we ask artists to give us the inside story about their latest single. Today's edition comes from Greg Camp and he tells us about his song "Cat's Game" from his new album 'Defektor.' And what a story it is, we'll turn it over to Greg now so he can give you the 411:

The song "Cat's Game" was inspired by a film that was never made. The independent director contacted me and needed a song for a film set in the late 70's- early 80's and needed to have a Joy Division vibe. So I set the "way back machine" and tried to write about the complexities of relationships from a point of view I could only imagine.

The character in the song being a confused punker strung out on model glue and wondering why girls are so elusive, always playing games and tricks on him. I spent a lot of time in my garage as a teen so I found it fitting to pen the song in a garage but I was NOT under the influence of model glue on this one.

You know you want to hear that one, so what are you waiting for? It's streaming right - here!

Macca's Fireman Project Finds Its Voice
antiMusic reports: We told you a little about this yesterday but here is the official word: The Fireman has returned after a ten-year break with something to sing about. Electric Arguments, the brand new third studio album from the mysterious duo--out in the U.S. November 18 on MPL/ATO--is their first release to feature vocals.

"Ambient dreams in rainbow arches describe the circles of The Fireman", is how the duo described their music in a rare interview around the release of their last album 'Rushes' in 1998. Their first album 'Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest', released in 1993, was a solid ambient dance album heavy on electronics. Around this time the identity of The Fireman was unknown until the press exposed the duo as none other than Paul McCartney and Youth. The now defunct music bible Melody Maker heaped praise on the project, "Paul McCartney has discovered dance music - the results are staggeringly brilliant. They (The Fireman) take a melody and, with dexterous genre-hopping through ambient, trance and house, evolve a number of breathtaking variations."

Last year The Fireman returned to work again to start work on what would become Electric Arguments, ultimately finding thirteen days and recording a song on each of those days over the course of a little more than a year. The results this time are entirely different from any previous Fireman release. - more on this story

Factory on November 25.

"John and I have a lot of great memories associated with performing at the Troubadour, since it was our first show in LA," said Daryl. "It's like going back to where it all began for us. We've always had an enthusiastic following in Los Angeles, and this is a chance for our fans to see us up close and personal in an intimate setting."

Beyond the classic hits, the sold-out shows featured rarely performed fan favorites and deep album cuts, as well as Daryl Hall solo material, with the duo backed by a band comprised of longtime member T-Bone Wolk on guitar and vocals, Mike Braun on drums, Charles DeChant on sax, keys and vocals, Eliot Lewis on keys and vocals, Zev Katz on bass, and Everett Bradley on percussion and vocals.

Amid Financial Crisis Senate Takes Time To Help Their Buddies In The Music Biz
Billboard reports: The U.S. Senate passed the Webcaster Settlement Act of 2008, sending it to President Bush's desk for signature two days after the U.S. House of Representatives okayed the bill.

The bill allows for SoundExchange, on behalf of copyright owners and performers, to negotiate with Internet radio services through 2015 an alternative royalty agreement while Congress is in recess.

The negotiations are aimed at setting aside a 2007 decision by the Copyright Royalty Board that set a royalty rate that Internet radio participants said would endanger the fiscal health of webcasting. [Can't wait to see the first lawsuit after the "agreement" is reached that challenges it as Unconstitutional under Equal Protection.. Attack! Attack! UK Week: Day 3
antiMusic reports: The British are coming, the British are coming. That is Attack! Attack! UK's new self-titled album is coming out next week. To celebrate the pending release from these buzz worthy Welsh rockers, we asked the band's frontman Neil Starr to pick some of his favorite songs from the album and tell us about them. Here is Neil with today's song:

Honesty: Ryan remembers writing the melody and lyrics for the verse on top of the bassist cabs in the rehearsal room , surrounded by t-shirts and equipment. It wasn't an ideal layout for song writing haha. I think we were listening to a lot of Nirvana 'In Utero' at the time and this I think kinda influenced the music of this track. There is something sleezy about it. Lyrically, for me anyway, it kind of speaks for itself , "Honesty didn't get me anywhere" there are a lot of people out there who wanna f*ck you over and not play by the rules, sometimes you gotta get nasty
