Diddy Brawl
Gigwise reports: Diddy he brawl? Maybe someone made fun of his silly stage names or called his music shiddy and he took offense? All we really know is what Gigwise reports in the following story: US rapper P Diddy has been accused of throwing two punches during a brawl at a nightclub on Saturday (October 13th).

The alleged incident is said to have taken place at Kiosk, in the Soho district of New York, at 3.30am after the rapper real name Sean Coombs became involved in an altercation with another nightclub goer.

The New York Post says that Coombs argued with Steven Acevedo outside the venue before police intervened in the incident. It's reported, however, that after being provoked again, Coombs launched two punches and shouted at Acevedo, "I'll kill you, punk!"- more on this story

---- The Album
Contact Music reports: These days you need an edge when trying make your CD a blockbuster seller. Perhaps it's a silly feud between rappers? Or better yet, you can get all kinds of attention with a controversial name. That's the road Nas is taking according to this Contact Music report: NAS is set to test hot-button race issues in rap by naming his next album ----.

While many of his peers are apologising for using the 'N' word in past lyrics and refusing to use the derogatory term, the defiant I Can hitmaker is challenging the politically correct by using it to title his next release.

Nas told fans during a Friday night (12Oct07) show at New York's Roseland Ballroom, that he plans to release the album by the end of 2007. The album will be the follow-up to Nas' critically acclaimed Hip-Hop Is Dead album.- more on this story

Radiohead Scam?
antiMusic reports: Was Radiohead's whole "pay what you want" to download our new album all just an elaborate publicity scam to encourage fans to pay for the music twice? Was the sinister plan to offer the physical CD in a few months with extra tracks and use the download as a way to encourage fans to buy the CD when it hits shelves? That's one of the arguments in a story USA Today ran on Monday which said in part:

Radiohead's management also confirmed that a physical CD of In Rainbows will hit shelves sometime in January, possibly with extra songs.

In an interview last week with British trade magazine Music Week, Radiohead's longtime managers, Chris Hufford and Bryce Edge, acknowledged that the download offer was a piece of a larger puzzle to generate more publicity for the CD release.

"If we didn't believe that when people hear the music they will want to buy the CD, then we wouldn't do what we are doing," Edge said.- Read the full USA Today article

No More Porn for AC/DC Web Fans
Metal Underground reports: They've sung about 'Dirty Deeds' for decades, but with a younger online audience hardcore headbangers AC/DC are cleaning up their act. For years the domain name acdc.com was held by a porn site with metal fans perhaps getting more than they bargained for every time they clicked.

But after years of wry tolerance the band's management in New York has finished negotiations to reclaim the name and launch the brand at its rightful place online. AC/DC label manager Sam Horsburgh from Albert Productions in Sydney said with fans as young as 10 or 11 turning to the site something had to be done.

"The demographic of the band has shifted a lot," Mr Horsburgh said. "The push to get it back came predominantly because they knew there were a lot of younger fans coming through. The young fans are so net savvy it's the first thing they do. And there was some interesting viewing up there for some time."- more on this story

Bryan Adams Kept From Bringing Peace To The Middle East
antiMusic reports: There is no better way to solve the world's problems then hosting a concert. Look at the successes of past like the Concert for Life which cured AIDS and Live 8 which ended third-world debt. Let's not forget Al Gore who ended global warming and even won a nifty prize with his cleverly named Live Earth concerts. But poor Bryan Adams has been robbed of his opportunity to finally settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Some pesky extremists caused the cancellation of Adams' peace concert and we doubt they did it all for love. Here is the Contact Music report: BRYAN ADAMS has been forced to scrap his peace concert in Israel following a number of security alerts.

The concerts, calling for a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, were to be held simultaneously in Tel Aviv and the West Bank town of Jericho on 18 October (07). But security scares led to the Jericho gig being called off last week (ends12Oct07), followed by the cancellation of the Tel Aviv concert on Sunday (14Oct07).

Organiser Daniel Lubetzky says, "Extremist ideologists have threatened our participants in Jericho, and we felt it is our responsibility not to play with their lives." [He then added] "Our mission is not to entertain. It is to mobilize moderate voices. If we have to postpone, we have to postpone."- more on this story

Rockers Should Not Be Allowed To Name Their Children
antiMusic reports: Why do rockers insist on giving their children silly names which will cause them all of kinds of torture at the hands of other children on playgrounds for years to come? We don't know but here is a story about the latest rocker to abuse the naming game. Gigwise reports: Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Keidis has named his newly born son, Everly Bear.

Keidis's wife, Heather Christie, gave birth to the couple's first baby on October 2nd, and according to Keidis, they choose the name from a list that they had compiled together.

"We had a long list of names, but suppose it came to me by way of the Everly Brothers, which is one of my favourite bands," Keidis told People. "The mama came up with Bear. That made sense to me because he's from me and I feel like I'm part of the bear clan." You gotta read why he says- next

PR reports: Stand up and speak to the hand! Canada's favorite sons, Barenaked Ladies, cross the border for their first-ever live DVD Talk To The Hand: Live In Michigan, available in stores on November 6 alongside their new live CD by the same name.

One of the top touring acts in North America, the live album and DVD format were invented for bands like the Barenaked Ladies, whose devoted fans (The Bare Nakeds) drove their podcasts to #1 on the US and Canadian iTunes charts, bought 10 million of their albums and helped propel three albums to platinum status and three more to gold. Filmed June 15th, 2007 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI in front of 15,000 fans, Talk To The Hand contains a mix of the band's biggest hits such as their chart-topping "One Week," and "If I Had $1,000,000," as well as some fan favorites like "Powder," and a selection of newer tracks off the band's most recent releases.
