Drake and Kanye West Making An Album Together

(Radio.com) Kanye West revealed in an interview that he and Drake are working on an album together. West spoke with Vogue ahead of his Yeezy Season 4 show on Wednesday (September 7).

He told the publication , "We're just working on music, working on a bunch of music together, just having fun going into the studio." If that sounds more like a track, hold tight. West confirmed, "We're working on an album, so there's some exciting things coming up soon." He wouldn't share a specific release date, though.

The two fueled rumors of a collaboration in August when a billboard displaying G.O.O.D. Music's and OVO Sound's logos appeared in Los Angeles. "Calabasas is the new Abu Dhabi," it read, referring to the city where both Drake and West own houses (via SPIN). Read more here.

Ice Cube Reacts To Death Of Ex-N.W.A. Manager Jerry Heller

(Radio.com) Hip hop manager Jerry Heller, known for helping the late Eazy-E form Ruthless Records and overseeing the rise of N.W.A., died over the weekend, and while some, including Eazy's daughter E.B. Wright, grieved his loss, N.W.A. rapper and lyricist Ice Cube wasn't too bummed.

'I ain't gonna pop no champagne, but I ain't gonna shed no tears either," he told a Detroit radio station. "It is what it is. We come here to pass, and he's outta here. I'm not losing no sleep over that one."

It's well-known that there was no love lost between Heller and Cube. For a while, there was even bad blood between Cube and the rest of N.W.A, allegedly due to Heller's mismanagement. In 1989, the rapper left the group due to royalty disputes. Read more here.

Chris Brown Claims That He Was Set Up

(Radio.com) Chris Brown and his legal team are standing by their claim that Baylee Curran, the woman who called police on August 30 and reported that Brown pulled a gun on her, actually intended to set the singer up.

Brown sent in an exclusive video statement to ABC News. "I cannot wait until the truth comes to light about this incident," he said. "My character is being defaced, and who I am as a person and my integrity. I'm glad that all my real supporters know me and they know the truth."

To back up Brown's assertion, his lawyer Mark Geragos shared a text message Curran allegedly sent her friend before calling police on Brown. She wrote about how angry she was at Brown for kicking her out, and how she intended to set him up by saying he'd drawn a gun on her.

"There was a search that was done," Geragos said. "They went in and said that they had a description of a piece of jewelry. That jewelry was not found in the house. They went in and she said that there was a gun. As far as I know, the gun was not found in the house." Security footage also does not appear to corroborate Curran's story. Read more here.

Johnny Depp Playing Detective Investigating Tupac's and Biggie's Murders

(Radio.com) When he's not performing as one of the Hollywood Vampires, Johnny Depp is an ace-crack detective. At least that's the character he'll play in the upcoming film Labyrinth, which explores Tupac's and Biggie's deaths and the detective who tried to solve their murders.

Depp will play Russell Poole, who had difficulty ironing out all the tangled threads surrounding Biggie's death, but did manage to uncover corruption in the LAPD that appeared to be connected to it (via ScreenDaily). The film will be based on Randall Sullivan's 2002 book by the same name.

Poole was tasked with investigating Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace's death on March 9th, 1997. He believed that Death Row Records' Suge Knight worked with LAPD officer David Mack to have Biggie killed. He also alleged that Knight was responsible for Tupac's murder on September 13th, 1996, because he didn't want to pay the rapper royalties. Read more here.

Teyana Taylor Releases 'Champions' Video

(Radio.com) Teyana Taylor starred in Kanye West's newest music video "Fade," and now the singer/actress has premiered her very own music video "Champions"

Taylor became famous for showing off her toned body in West's visual, and once again she makes use of her instrument in "Champions." In between glamorous shots where she's painted in gold, Taylor shows off a more fierce side. She wears gold chains, dons a face mask and holds an assault rifle to contrast her more sensual side with something far more ominous.

The video's stop motion effect brings a series of photographs to life, so that Taylor looks like she's dancing even though each shot is only a still. The song itself has a menacing quality about it thanks to effects that at times warp the melody and Taylor's voice. "1500/ All these singles/ Throw it up/ Watch it fall and drop/ Round and round we go/ Champions/ We run this city/ Number one/ They falling from the top/ Round and round we go" she sings in the opening measures before launching into a rap. Check out Teyanna's new video here.

Calvin Harris Upset About Public Break Up With Taylor Swift

(Radio.com) Calvin Harris discusses his very public breakup with Taylor Swift in the new issue of British GQ. "It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly," he told the publication.

"The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus."

Harris also addressed the angry tweets he wrote after it came to light that Swift was a co-writer on his current single with Rihanna "This Is What You Came For."

"When it ended, all hell broke loose," he admits. "Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realize that none of that matters. I'm a positive guy." Read more here.

Rihanna Reveals That She Still Gets Stage Fright

(Radio.com) From the fierce attitude she presents on stage to her devil-may-care persona in public, it may seem like Rihanna has the confidence of a thousand suns, but according to the singer, that's far from the truth. It turns out, Ri-Ri still gets shy.

Rihanna mentioned how it doesn't matter whether she's performing or whether she's making an appearance at an event, it all feels like a stage to her and that still makes her a little nervous.

She gets butterflies right before she "goes on" and interacts with people, whether that's singing to them or just chit chatting. "Still I get shy and awkward and (have) stage fright" she told the Associated Press as part of a Q&A for Fashion Week. Read more here.

Faith Hill and Daughter Maggie Road Trip To Taylor Swift

(Radio.com) In the world of cute country videos, Faith Hill is not about to be outdone by Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. No siree. The singer shared a video on Twitter showing off her road trip sing-along skills.

Hill and her second oldest daughter Maggie sang along to Taylor Swift while she drove Maggie to college. Their song of choice? "Bad Blood." That makes sense considering what a big fan of the song Hill has been. Following the Billboard Music Awards, she was quick to tweet how much she loved Swift's video.

As for this latest post, with her car packed to the brim and the windows down, Hill did most of the singing while Maggie filmed and couldn't stop herself from giggling. "Day 1: #BadBlood singalong w/ Maggie on the way to college!" she wrote. Hopefully she shares more from their time in the car. Read more here.

It's Been 10 Years Since Justin Timberlake Brought SexyBack

(Radio.com) Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds turns ten today (September 8th). His second solo album since leaving *NSYNC, the album cemented his departure from the world of boy bands, and also marked a new direction for his solo career. Here, we take a look back at the album and all the sexy Timberlake helped bring back with its release.

There's an inevitable transformation in any young pop star's career that occurs just as they enter adulthood. They shed their teen image and share a more "mature" side with fans. Britney, Christina, Miley, Selena and more have attempted it, and the backlash surrounding that transition has been as inevitable as the transformation itself, because oftentimes "mature" translates to "sexual." And rarely does the world focus its critical gaze as harshly on male pop stars who make the transition from teen idol to male superstar, from boy band member to solo artist. If male artists just so happen to explore more adult subject matter, wellas the saying goesboys will be boys.

Coming four years after Justin Timberlake released his first solo album Justified, the followup was a far more experimental and equally risque album, FutureSex/LoveSounds. The title alone, combining old words into a fresh formation, felt as though Timberlake created some new language, one which challenged the cookie cutter boxes that often represent pop music. With producer/collaborator Timbaland (whose name is all over the album's credits, from playing instruments to lending vocals), Timberlake stretched the identity he'd long presented the world with, challenging what listeners thought about him. FutureSex/LoveSounds showed Timberlake all grown up and unafraid to own it.Read more here.

Singled Out: Soffia Bjorg's I Lie

Icelandic newcomer Soffia Bjorg just released her debut single "I Lie" and to celebrate we asked to tell us the story behind the track. Here is the story:

'I Lie' was actually my accidental baby in the studio. I wrote the song with a more folky feel in mind. But then when this group came together in the studio the energy in there just blew it up. Petur's guitar riff kind of set the tone for the song and we were off. Later that night when I was taking a shower before bed, I could not stop thinking about the song like there was something missing. So then the shouting choir came to mind and it was the spice missing.

The idea behind this song is from many things. Things that I have gone through and seen my friends struggle with. Of course it is given that it is about relationships and the failed attempts to appear fine when in fact everything is not. This act of faking fine is one of the big mistakes that are made. Then nothing moves forward. Only the surface is polished until its gone. Something like that.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about Soffia right here!
