Meat Loaf 'Bat Out of Hell' Musical Coming
. ![]() (Radio.com) To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell next year, the album will be adapted into a musical by Jim Steinman, who wrote all of the original music in 1977. Award-winning theater and opera director Jay Scheib will helm the production, which is described as "a romantic adventure about rebellious youth and passionate love, set against the backdrop of a post-cataclysmic city adrift from the mainland." Sounds about right. The musical will begin previews next February in the UK before moving to Canada. Though Meat Loaf is not personally involved with the show, he and Steinman continue their fruitful creative relationship today. Read more here.
