Singled Out: Soffia Bjorg's I Lie
. ![]() Icelandic newcomer Soffia Bjorg just released her debut single "I Lie" and to celebrate we asked to tell us the story behind the track. Here is the story: 'I Lie' was actually my accidental baby in the studio. I wrote the song with a more folky feel in mind. But then when this group came together in the studio the energy in there just blew it up. Petur's guitar riff kind of set the tone for the song and we were off. Later that night when I was taking a shower before bed, I could not stop thinking about the song like there was something missing. So then the shouting choir came to mind and it was the spice missing. The idea behind this song is from many things. Things that I have gone through and seen my friends struggle with. Of course it is given that it is about relationships and the failed attempts to appear fine when in fact everything is not. This act of faking fine is one of the big mistakes that are made. Then nothing moves forward. Only the surface is polished until its gone. Something like that. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about Soffia right here!
