Joe Perry Discusses The State of Aerosmith |
Gazer of WZMR 104.9 The Edge in Albany spoke with Perry in an interview that aired Sunday, where Perry discussed the circumstance of the onstage jam, and the future of the band. Perry told Gazer that Tyler "came down to my show in New York. I think he walked into the club right at the encore because he really didn't know which songs we had played up til them. But we had 'Walk this Way' left and I thought I would give the fans a treat and have him come sit in with my band." That's the part of the story most fans have heard about but Perry goes on to tell Gazer that "He came in, he sang and he left. I looked around afterwards, because we played one more song, and I went back looking for him and he was gone. They say he just walked off the stage and left."
Perry said that Tyler, who is currently under different management than the rest of the band, wants to take two years off from the band. (Remember it was basically a two camp management rift that split the Beatles apart.) He once again discussed bringing in a new singer. "I have a bunch of favorite singers, but I certainly haven't pictured them on stage with Aerosmith yet." So for now it is still a wait and see game to figure out the future of the famed Boston rock band.
While the interview isn't up on the The Edge's website at press time, here is a link to

Just goes to show how many good friends and good will Chi has made over the last 20 years, just being the good dude he is.
If you were lucky enough to befriend Chi over the last couple decades you would know that there is not a more kind, or more giving person. It's so great to see it all coming back around for him.

Benji Madden's Taintstick Releases Monkey Video |
The track is the latest single from Taintstick's debut album,""6lbs of Sound", which debuted at #120 on the Billboard Top 200.
Quite possibly the best thing to hit rock n' roll since the Beatles, Taintstick is a once-in-a-generation explosion of heavy metal ecstasy. The band arouses the once-proud demons of rock and roll from their long and shameful slumber with their debut album. Fronted by none other than pro skateboarder/MMA fighter Jason Ellis, alongside drummer/studio mastermind Shoebox, Cowf**ker on guitar, and Good Charlotte's Benji Madden handling the bass, Taintstick are a powerful musical wrecking crew.

As I Lay Dying In The Studio |
"We've released little bits of information here or there in previous news posts and blogs, but there are still questions coming in concerning what we've been up to. Below is an unquestionably obvious outline concerning our future plans 1) We started working on new album. 2) We started recording the new album a few weeks ago with Adam D & Daniel Castleman at the reigns (and JMR for a couple weeks). 3) There are only drums for 8 songs tracked so far. One of them we're undecided about, but maybe it'll feel different when the vocals are done. Either way, we need write more than 8 songs (since they aren't as long as the 8 songs on Master of Puppets). Therefore we're working on writing MORE new songs as soon as we finish recording what's been started. 4) The only break in working on the new album will be our short trip to Mexico and Sri Lanka to play two of the best shows of our career. 5) All of us can't stress enough how grateful we are to be writing music that we love while still receiving a paycheck. This can only be credited to OUR LOYAL FANS! Sometimes bands need to rush out a crappy record so they can start touring again to pay their bills.
"In our case, we plan to make a record worth listening to (hopefully), and start touring again when we're done. Thanks for your patience and understanding. We care and we're working. In fact, I haven't had a full nights rest since March when the coolest kid ever made me a DAD!"
