Arsis Leads Additions to Indianapolis Metal Fest II
PR reports: Nuclear Blast USA Recording artist and death metal act Arsis is confirmed to appear at the Indianapolis Metal Fest II on September 26th and 27.

Arsis joins label mates Dew-Scented, Threat Signal, and Bleed the Sky for their first-ever appearance at what's being touted as the 'fastest growing celebration of all things metal.' In its second year, the Indianapolis Metal Fest is setting itself apart from other metal festivals by highlighting diverse bands from all metal genres.

Joining Arsis, Dew-Scented, Threat Signal, and Bleed the Sky at the Indianapolis Metal Fest II will be national bands Kittie, Divine Heresy, Mustasch, The Absence, Ekotren, Woe of Tyrants, Demiricous, Shadowside (Brazil), Level-C, Wykked Wytch, Obszon Geschopf (France), Green Jelly, Into Eternity, Daylight Dies, Destrophy, Skeletonwitch, The Destro, Gates of Slumber, Gigan, Black Chapel. - more on this story

Neuraxis Plot US Return
PR reports: Neuraxis have confirmed the band's first return to the United States since 2006 in support of 'The Thin Line Between.'

The band will join The Faceless, Abigail Williams, Decrepit Birth and Veil of Maya across North America, acting as direct support in Quebec City, Montreal, and Toronto.

"Now that the album is out and we've destroyed most of Canada and the buzz seems incredible, it's now time for Neuraxis to invade the US on The Planetary Duality tour," guitarist Rob Milley says. "It's a diverse and brutal tour package, we hope you come out early and catch our set." - more on this story

Brandi Carlile Live Digital EP
PR reports: Brandi Carlile Live in Boston, an iTunes exclusive EP, is set to be released on Tuesday September 16, 2008. This EP will feature a handful of Brandi's tracks, as well as a cover of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues," (in addition to a live video performance of Brandi's poignant song "Josephine.")

Moreover, Brandi Carlile's sophomore release The Story continues to enjoy chart success, reclaiming spots within the top 10 on both iTunes Top Albums Chart and Amazon's Bestseller's list. Carlile's recent return to the charts is due in large part to a General Motors commercial featuring the album's title track.

Debuting on August 8th during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics, GM's spot showcases the company's alternative fuel solutions (including hybrids and hydrogen fuel cells) set to Brandi's powerful song. - more on this story

Danger Mouse Named One of the 75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century
HER reports: Artist and producer Danger Mouse appears among "the 75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century" in this month's issue of Esquire, celebrating the magazine's 75th anniversary. Alongside artists, scientists, entrepreneurs and heads of state, Danger Mouse will be honored for his boundless creativity, his relentless work ethic, and his power to shape the cultural future.

The issue celebrates "the people and the ideas that are laying the foundation for the 21st Century," says Esquire editor David Granger. Esquire chose Danger Mouse as an artist whose work will have a powerful influence for years to come. 100,000 copies of the issue will feature an innovative cover with "electronic ink."

In 2008 alone, as half of the chart-topping duo Gnarls Barkley, Danger Mouse released the acclaimed LP The Odd Couple, toured the United States and Europe, and won two MTV Video Music Awards. As a producer, he lent his unmistakable touch to hit albums from Beck and the Black Keys. And Rolling Stone gave him "Best Producer" honors. - Danger Mouse is currently readying several undisclosed projects for 2009.

Frightened Rabbit Go Mostly Acoustic
PR reports: Frightened Rabbit will return to the States this fall by popular demand. Their ever-increasing fanbase has rapidly multiplied since the release of their sophomore LP, The Midnight Organ Fight (FatCat Records), which has received near unanimous praise. To further satiate the ravenous fans, FatCat will release a live and mostly-acoustic version of Midnight Organ Fight, titled Liver! Lung! FR!, October 21, in conjunction with this jaunt, as the foursome continues their musical trek through the U.S. and Canada.

Captured live July 30 at the Captain's Rest in the band's hometown Glasgow, the album is an intimate set that brings singer Scott Hutchison's wrenching vocals to the forefront. The Twilight Sad's James Graham further enhances the emotional delivery with a guest vocal contribution on an incredible version of "Keep Yourself Warm." The lads will kick this run off in Cleveland with a free in-store performance at Music Saves October 15 and finish up at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin on November 9, before heading to Europe to open for Death Cab for Cutie. - more on this story

Fueled By EPs
PR reports: Fueled By Ramen has announced the forthcoming release of three new EPs from three of their artists. Two of the EPs come from the latest additions to the FBR roster: The Friday Night Boys and A Rocket To The Moon, while the third features new music from FBR veterans This Providence. All three EPs will be released on October 14th digitally and via the Fueled By Ramen webstore.

The EPs are currently available for pre-order at the FBR webstore for $5 each, or all three together for just $10. The physical CD releases will be limited to the FBR webstore, with remaining copies available on all three artists' upcoming tours. In addition, the EPs will be available digitally, again with the option to purchase all three together at a reduced rate.

"The Bright Lights" EP is the first new music from This Providence since their self-titled 2006 release. The eagerly anticipated four-song EP includes previously unreleased material, recorded during sessions for the Seattle-based rock outfit's upcoming January 2009 full-length release. Also featured is a "Renovated" take on their first FBR album's breakout single, "My Beautiful Rescue," which in its original form has already sold over 72,000 digital downloads. - more on this story
