Ready Fire Aim Week: Day 4 "Lush But Dark"
antiMusic reports: Ready Fire Aim's new album "This Changes Nothing" hits stores this week. To celebrate the release we asked front man Sage Rader to give us the inside track on some of his favorite songs from the album.

Here is Sage with today's song "Lush But Dark": This song for me is about losing fear and falling back into something you don't understand but feel is carrying you. It's also a cry to un-know things you have knownalmost a "losing my religion" songa song about some kind of search for meaning.

Shaun basically wrote this one on his own as a sketch that we kept almost to the end. I went into the vocal booth and recorded several lines that the song had inspired in me and then we went and cut them up. I left Shaun to do what he wanted and he produced exactly what I had heard on the vocal lines. It was the essence of collaboration.

Scary Kids Scaring Finch
PR reports: A check in at Scary Kids Scaring Kids headquarters finds the relentlessly touring sextet at it again, tearing through a series of West Coast dates with comrades Finch in July.

The band released their self-titled album late last year to the approval of critics and fans alike. The disc reflects the wide variety of influences contained in their record collections.

The classic metal sound of "Snake Devil" contrasts with the intimate acoustic arrangement on "Goes Without Saying" and the melancholy but melodic vocals on "The Deep End." And Scary Kids' hardcore roots are taken to anthemic new heights on tracks like "Degenerates" and "Holding On." - dates

Eddie Floyd Loves You So
conqueroo reports: Soul man Eddie Floyd's first new album in six years, titled Eddie Loves You So, marks his return to the Stax Records logo. The singer who scored a monster soul classic with "Knock on Wood" in 1967 has returned to his Southern roots for the new CD.

Included are 10 original songs written for fellow soul artists in the '50s and '60s. Some date back to Floyd's years with the seminal proto-soul group The Falcons; others are some previously unheard gems. The new CD hits the streets on July 29, 2008 on Stax Records through the Concord Music Group.

The album, while newly recorded, takes the listener back to the R&B origins of the Montgomery, Ala.-born Floyd. He was a member of The Falcons in the late '50s, which also featured Joe Stubbs, later of the Contours and 100 Proof Aged in Soul. From that era, Floyd has re-recorded "You're So Fine," the group's breakthrough 1959 hit, plus "Never Get Enough of Your Love," which he recorded on Al Bell's Safice Records between his Falcons and Stax years. There's also a previously unreleased Falcons song, "Since You've Been Gone," which was demoed but never recorded until now.

. B-52s - Funplex

. Dismember
The eighth head in Dismember's freezer is kept in a safe, cool place where bacteria trying to spoil the main course are killed, and we are left with a huge feast of fleshy death metal that doesn't taste of bombastic spices or over-the-top vegetables- it is just Dismember. - Read the full Dismember review

. Madonna: What It Feels Like For A Fan
Last week I wrote a article on Madonna's questionable association with StubHub. It resulted in a slew of emails calling me a cynic and other names. The reasoning behind my article was to point out that great art shouldn't be limited to the extremely wealthy. - Read the full Madonna: What It Feels Like For A Fan review

. JDJ Band - Cruel Way
Cruel Way is beyond cruel, it's torturous. In the Razzies of the music world, this should be a hands-down winner. Overall, Cruel Way is written like a Jerry Springer guest's attempt at a Penthouse Forum, or a dirtbag's attempt at The Misfits. (1/2 star) - Read the full JDJ Band - Cruel Way review
