Ready Fire Aim Week: Day 3 "I Would for You" |
Here is Sage with today's song "I Would for You": One of the greatest love songs ever written---early Jane's---proves they had the chemistry from the start. I grew up putting this track on mixtapes for girls so to get to actually sing it was ridiculous.
Shaun made me sing it like 6 times through in a row and then kept the take where my voice was starting to crack a bit. Guess he was looking for that edge on the vocal. We recorded and finished producing the track in a 10 hour day. Shaun went from having never even having heard the track, which is even more amazingjust did his own thing.

Xzibit's Baby Dies |
"Xavier passed away this morning at 3:30am and I must tell you this, It is unnatural for a parent to bury a child. I am telling you this because of the same reason I tell you when I'm having great times, life is too short to be fake.
"Hold on to your kids if you have them, protect them and show them you love them everyday you wake up and see them, them, don't take a second you get to hug them teach them and care for them for granted. You can have all the material wealth in the universe but it is NOTHING compared to having your family. I am thankful for all of my blessings and I'm not one to question God's perfect plan, so I leave you with great love and thanks for the love that was sent earlier on my pervious blog to my son. Of course I need to take some time and handle my loss, STAY FOCUSED PEOPLE. Its not promised to any of us."
On behalf of everyone at antiMusic we too offer our heart felt condolences. Fans can post messages to Xzibit

System of a Down Sideband Set Release |
With Malakian sitting in the Scars' producer chair, he and Dolmayan entered the studio last September, recorded nearly two-dozen songs for the album, and then whittled down the final track listing to 14 songs.
Many of the Scars on Broadway songs had their genesis years ago. "I like to let my songs marinate over time, that helps determine which ones speak to me the loudest," explained Malakian. Malakian, who penned or co-penned SOAD classics such as "Aerials," "Chop Suey!," "Hypnotize," and "B.Y.O.B.", wrote the Scars songs mostly on keyboards and a drum machine. On the new scars material Malakian injects more rock than metal, citing influences from Iggy Pop to David Bowie to Neil Young.

Music Causes Violence? University Studies Cause Stupidity! |
Blabbermouth has the story: Times Online reports that researchers from Glasgow University, who monitored the playlists and outbreaks of fighting at eight pubs and bars in Glasgow city centre, found that loud rock and rap music encouraged customers to drink more, increasing loutish behaviour that often spilt over into violence. The pounding rhythms also made it difficult for customers to hear one another, causing misunderstandings.
Rock music such as AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" and The Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar" was found to encourage macho posturing and aggressive behavior among male customers. However, researchers also discovered that Sonny And Cher's "I Got You Babe" and Robbie Williams's hits could be used to defuse potential disputes. Easy listening and "slushy" romantic songs were sometimes used to deter gangs of young men from entering pubs. [The key word there is "entering". But what happens if they are already in the pub and the owners turned on Sonny and Cher? You would think that would turn them violent in a hurry.]
