10 Years Week: Day 2 "Focus" |
Focus - We co-wrote this song with our buddy Dean Deleo. We have a mutual friend who set us up to write together and "Focus" is the result of a couple of days holed up in a Hollywood rehearsal room with Dean.
"Focus" is a love song, plain and simple. We have typically strayed from writing such straight forward lyrics about the emotion of love, but this song just really had a 1970's, Led Zeppelin like vibe that it just felt right.

Miley Cyrus Gets Playboy Offer and May Sing With Pulp Fiction Star |
TMZ has the Playboy story: Hugh Hefner doesn't get what the big deal is about 15-year-old Miley Cyrus showing a little skin. The Playboy founder told "Extra" (via NY Daily News) that he's open to having Miley really bare all and stop being a tease when she turns 18.
And Marc Malkin of E! Online has the Travolta story: "Not only are they both voicing characters in the upcoming animated flick Bolt, but Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston, tells me they could be making music together. 'Johnny may sing with Miley,' Preston said at last week's Step Up Women's Network's Inspiration Awards luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel."

Unfortunately, we will not be able to make the shows this week in the UK and Europe. We were all so excited to come. At this point we have to just stay put and be by Allen while he goes through this difficult time. We will make it up to you as soon as we can. We know some fans who made travel plans from other countries to see us and we apologize for the inconvenience. Our West Coast dates right now are on hold until we know what is going on.
We will post another update soon. Allen sends his thanks for the well wishes and he's sorry we had to cancel these shows. We'll be showing Allen the Lit myspace page with your comments of support. Thanks for your understanding. [our thoughts and prayers go out to Allen and his family, you can post your comments to him

Motley Crue Delay Album to Record New Song |
A cynic might conclude that they went back to the drawing board to produce a new song with bigger hit potential, as has been known to happen from time to time in rock n roll. The title track from the effort has reached No 10 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart after 3 weeks.
Motley bassist Nikki Sixx discussed the new track in a press release, "Before our performance at the press conference, we were firing on all cylinders at sound check just jamming out, and that's when the new idea came. We quickly laid it down and went to the studio to record it, and liked it so much we pushed back the release one week so that we could get it onto the album it now has 13 tracks. It's the ultimate song to end the record with and begin the new chapter of our career."

Guns N' Roses Guitarist Explains It All |
Live-Metal.net: When do you think you will be releasing [your new solo album] "Abnormal"? Bumblefoot: Well, I would like to get it out there as soon possible. It's a plus and a minus that I am doing things all by myself. It's a plus in the sense that I don't have to organize and wait and work it out. I can just put it out as it comes out, which is also a minus because there is no big bang when it comes out. Suddenly it is just there, but I kinda like that. So I am just making it available as I can and hopefully people will discover it and they have the option of deciding whether they like it ot not when it is there.
Live-Metal.net: A lot of people might have become familiar with you by way of GUNS N' ROSES. How did your involvement with the band come about? Bumblefoot: It was about four years ago that we started talking. Joe Satriani recommended me and then I got a funny email from Chris Pitman, the keyboard player, and we all just started talking. It took a minute for us to get it together but we started touring in 2006. We just started jammin' and the next thing you know we are doing it in front of people, then we are doing it in all different places, then I am laying guitar tracks on the album and then here we are in New Jersey!
Live-Metal.net: Do you ever tire of being asked what is slowly turning into the million-dollar rock journalism question, "When is 'Chinese Democracy' going to be released?" Bumblefoot: How can you not ask that question? It's like, "Doesn't anyone notice that elephant in the room?!" We have new management and they are good guys, and it's in negotiations.
