(hed)pe Live Album and DVD
PR reports: (hed)pe have revealed the tracklisting and cover art for their upcoming live album and DVD, "The DIY Guys". The 2-disc set will arrive in stores on July 8, 2008 through Suburban Noize Records.

"A lot of bands say their ---- is live, but I know for a fact that they go in and patch things. Our band isn't trying to provide our people with some polished piece of crap," says frontman Jared Gomes. "Our live shows are raw and explosive Everything just is raw. When we play microphones might get unplugged or the guitars may go out of tune, but (Hed)pe is raw and unapologetic rock n' roll."

(Hed) p.e's explosive live show was caught on tape for the release of the group's first live album and DVD release. The live CD portion was captured at Hollywood's legendary Key Club where the band performed a mixture of classic (Hed) p.e tracks as well as new fan favorites from their latest studio album "Insomnia". The DVD includes 13 live tracks as well as music videos, behind the scenes footage, interviews and punk-rockumentary film clips from the band's decade-long tour history. - more on this story

Band Challenge Miley Cyrus Over Song Theft
antiMusic reports: Looks like someone is looking for some publicity! Here is the press release we received: Given the recent commotion over Lustra's fans discovery of Miley Cyrus' alleged borrowing of their music, Lustra would like to invite Ms. Cyrus to join them on stage at the Viper Room, Thursday, May 29, 2008. Lustra would play their song "Scotty Doesn't Know", following by Ms. Cyrus' "Rockstar", and then let their fans decide. [Do they let 15 year-olds into the Viper Room?]

Initially, it was the many legions of Lustra fans that discovered the similarities with Ms. Cyrus' music. Hence, Lustra believes that the fans should decide if the copyright problem does exist. "We don't want anything other than credit for the music we worked so very hard on," declares Nick Cloutman, Lustra's guitarist. "We don't believe for a second that Ms. Cyrus knew what was happening and was only following instructions."

Disney has admitted publicly that Ms. Cyrus' does not write her own music but rather plays the songs that are selected for her. Lustra is well aware of that and realizes Ms. Cyrus' dilemma and that she much like them, is a victim of corporate behavior.

Burlington, Ontario's favorite sons, The Saint Alvia Cartel took the airwaves by storm with the Canada only release of their debut, self-titled full-length CD in 2007. Their signature blend of punk, reggae, new wave and full-on rock blew audiences away and garnered insane amounts of glowing press coverage. Franssen Returns to Born From Pain
Metal Underground reports: Born From Pain was recently rejoined by original member Rob Franssen, who replaces departed vocalist, Kevin Otto. The group explains:

"After a long period of not knowing what was going to happen with Kevin's throat situation, Kevin was forced to stop shouting for Born From Pain by doctor's advice. The amount of shows on the schedule would have left Kevin's vocal chords scarred and marked for life and obviously he was not willing to take that risk. We had already seen it coming for a while as his situation has not been improving since Kevin's last show in December 2007.

"As Born From Pain had already looked to everybody who they thought were suitable for the job after original singer Che left, the only logical outcome left was to put original member Rob Franssen and former singer for bands like Feeding The Fire, Bloodsport, Wheel Of Progress and Backdraft on the mic." - more on this story
