The Smashing Pumpkins release their new album Aghori Mhori Mei. The album comes amidst the band's highly-successful international tour, which is currently in the middle of its North American run of shows with additional performances to follow in Latin America this Fall.
The Smashing Pumpkins' thirteenth collection to date, Aghori Mhori Mei is a bruising and shadowy return to form from original Smashing Pumpkins members Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and Billy Corgan. The new album harkens back to the band's early 90's canon; where guitars, bass, drums, and spiking vocals ruled, and continues the prolific hot streak frontman Billy Corgan kicked off a decade ago. Just last year, the band released the third and final Act of their sprawling and adventurous rock opera ATUM, a sequel to 1995's Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness and 2000's Machina/The Machines Of God. While some artists might take a breather after an acclaimed and ambitious triple album, Corgan went straight back into the studio to write, produce, and record this new 10-track body of work. As vital and vibrant a songwriter as ever, Corgan had quickly promised a 2024 follow-up on the horizon, which serves as the latest twist in Corgan's careful commitment to how his art is presented. The band completed the recording of Aghori Mhori Mei amidst an expansive touring schedule across the last few years. (continue)

Today, with the release of Resurrection, Los Lonely Boys reaffirm their status as one of the most influential Texican Rock 'n' Roll bands of all time. Out now via BMG, the GRAMMY-winning, multi-platinum trio's new album marks their first in 11 years, arriving alongside a new music video for "I Let You Think That You Do." "It's blues and rock, but it's very Los Lonely Boys," says Jojo Garza, as "I Let You Think That You Do" rustles up a classic boogie, spiked with scorching harmonica and a whole lot of Rio Grande grit and guitar-slinging.
Recorded at guitarist/vocalist Henry Garza's home studio in St. Angelo, TX, and El Paso's Sonic Ranch (Fiona Apple, Bon Iver, Snarky Puppy, etc.), Resurrection was mixed live in Chicago by Chris Gelin at Opus Audio Labs. The album also includes highlights like "See Your Face," showcasing the band's growth following an extended hiatus from the studio, and lead single "Wish You Would," which blends breezy guitar riffs with profound insight. Revitalized and spiritually aligned, Resurrection reignites the musical passion that has always united the band of brothers, paying homage to Texas icons and their own iconic sound. (continue)

This highly anticipated release is the first proper record since announcing the touring departure of vocalist Stephen Christian and the addition of Memphis May Fire's Matty Mullins. The twelve-tracks, deliberately free-flowing, represent the diverse nature of Anberlin; with a handful of much heavier tracks, a dabble into industrial exploration, as well as the quintessential mellow vibes Anberlin fans have come to love over the band's expansive career.
On the new chapter of Anberlin, drummer Nate Young emphasizes "With Anberlin, there's been multiple eras of our career. This new era with Matty Mullins is one we couldn't be more stoked on. As all things, you never know how long this time will be, but we're sure gonna lean all the way in and enjoy the hell out of the process." (continue)

When iconic band America stepped on the stage of the world-famous Hollywood Bowl on August 3rd, 1975, they were at the top of their game. The chart-topping folk-rock trio had just released its fifth album, Hearts, which boasted the band's second #1 single, "Sister Golden Hair." Today, one day before the 49th anniversary of that legendary AMERICA performance, the Grammy-winning band will issue a stunning live version of "Sister Golden Hair." This will be the second single from AMERICA's highly-anticipated upcoming live album, America - Live From The Hollywood Bowl 1975 (Primary Wave Music; distributed by Sun Records), out September 6, 2024.
It's hard to believe that "Sister Golden Hair" had only been out for just six months when AMERICA performed it at the Hollywood Bowl back in 1975. The live version here is mature, just like the live staple it has since become. AMERICA plays it faithful to the record, putting the interplay of the original trio of Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley, and Dan Peek front and center. A thicket of strummed acoustic guitars lay a foundation for the balmy harmony vocals, and the instantly-recognizable slide guitar melody. As the song patiently unfolds, the harmony vocals swell to choir-size, rocketing the song skyward.

Daryl Uhrin recently ended his 15-year hiatus from music with the launch of Everbody's Side Project and the release of the new EP "Searching For a Ray of Hope". To celebrate we asked Daryl to tell us about the track "I Hate Where We Started". Here is the story:
'I Hate Where We Started' is a true story about myself and a girl. She was a friend of a friend, and whenever we found ourselves at the same party or event, we naturally gravitated towards each other. We'd have those long, intimate conversations that hit you right in the feelings. Despite our different backgrounds-she was high class, and I was very much low class-we connected deeply. (continue)
