U.D.O. strike back with their new thirteen-track studio album, which was lauded by hard 'n' heavy press worldwide and thereby cements the fact that they're not only midfielders but definitely one of the main forerunners of the scene.
But that's not all: Touchdown also marks the musical reunion of singer Udo Dirkschneider and bassist Peter Baltes (ex-Accept) who joined the U.D.O. ranks a few months ago. To celebrate those happenings, the group has launched a lyric video for new song, "Fight For The Right." It's an anti-war track that continues U.D.O.'s tradition of delivering heavy, old-school riffing, this time garnished with a grand, classical music dominated guitar solo. (continue)

ollowing the recent release of their highly anticipated self-titled third album, acclaimed electro-pop trio A R I Z O N A have unveiled their new single "Hanging On." The song was co-written by A R I Z O N A, frequent collaborators PJ Bianco and Ryan Pulford, and longtime touring agent and dear friend Ryan Edmundson. "Hanging On" is available now on all streaming platforms.
Regarding the new song, Zachary Charles explained, "'Hanging On' was written in the middle of the 2020 quarantine, relatively early on in the third album process. It quickly became an internal favorite of ours, and one we had initially planned to include on the album. The song is about dealing with the long-term effects of losing someone close to you, and in turn a piece of yourself. It focuses on how we don't ever really get that piece back, and how that can personally look or feel in day to day life as we wrangle it internally; all the while being forced to interface with the rest of the world still moving around us. It remains a special song (written alongside two close friends and collaborators Ryan Pulford and Ryan Edmundson), and I'm happy it's closely following the album as it's very much a part of the overall journey." BOYS LIKE GIRLS are excited to announce their first full length album in 11 years, SUNDAY AT FOXWOODS, which will arrive October 20, 2023 via Fearless / Concord Records. The announcement is heralded by today's release of "CRY," the fourth preview of the upcoming record, which is available now at all DSPs.
"I'm not really a campfire style singer, but on my third or fourth date with my now wife she asked me to play her a song. I don't know why, but I picked up the guitar and started playing 'CRY' in front of someone for the first time," lead vocalist Martin Johnson reflects. "A crazy thing happened...I felt the song in the way I had always wanted to. I meant the words I was singing...and I meant them for her. To me, every song is a living, breathing thing. Some are born before their time. Some are just supposed to make you feel good, some have great purpose. Sometimes when you write, you're telling a real story, but sometimes it's a made up one. Sometimes the words just sound good and you figure it out later. This one took years to reveal itself." (continue)
FleischKrieg has released the official music video for their new single, "Bloody Prophets II". "A post-apocalyptic anthem with driving guitars and danceable synths, 'Bloody Prophets' is a song about the irony of how our saviors of old all promised eternal life only to die grisly, untimely deaths of their own. I wrote an early version of the song after spending several weeks suffering from intense alien abduction nightmares. Looking for help from spiritual sources, it dawned on me that those who promised eternal life in paradise suffered miserable deaths in the real world." - RICHARD CRANOR (Vocals) (continue)

Swedish death/doom metal veterans OCTOBER TIDE unveil the first single "Tapestry of Our End" from their forthcoming seventh studio album "The Cancer Pledge", out October 6th on Agonia Records. The song, available now on all streaming platforms, has been given an animated lyric video.
Recent output has seen OCTOBER TIDE tone down on the doom particle, and throw the listener in a colder embrace of a melodic death metal rainstorm. This trend remains consistent on "The Cancer Pledge", and overlaps with the direction spearheaded by guitarist Fredrik Norrman (ex-Katatonia, ex-Trees Of Eternity, Thenighttimeproject), keen on rejuvenating OCTOBER TIDE with a touch of the past. "It's a direct continuation of the previous album," states Norrman. "Less doom and more death metal, yet melodic and with more layers. I've searched for inspiration in records I listened to in the 80's and 90's when I grew up. But it still sounds like October Tide." (continue)

Alt-rockers Latewaves have released a music video for their new track "Italian Smokes", the second single from their forthcoming self-titled album, which will arrive on September 29th.
"'Italian Smokes' is inspired by a panic attack I had on the beautiful streets of Florence, Italy, induced by the graphic pictures of rotting teeth and holes in throats displayed on the cigarette boxes they sell over there," the band shares. "'Italian Smokes' may be inspired by anxiety, but it's about GRATITUDE. Gratitude for the people in your life that can talk you off the ledge, that you can count on to help you keep going, and your chosen family. (continue)
