Black Oak Arkansas have shared their take on Monster Magnet's "Space Lord", a track from their new covers album "The Devil's Jukebox", which will be released digitally and on CD on September 1st, followed by a vinyl edition on September 22nd.

Cleopatra Records revealed the following: It's been a trying couple of years for one of the most enduring institutions of Southern Rock. In 2021, beloved veterans Black Oak Arkansas lost one of their founding members, guitarist, songwriter, and vibrant, rebellious spirit Rickie Lee Reynolds. Reynolds, who was there at the very inception of the band back in 1963 when they were calling themselves The Knowbody Else, was in many ways the heart of the group, the fiery soul who kept the music playing and set the stage for legendary frontman James "Jim Dandy" Mangrum. But you can't keep a good band down, and today a new BOA line-up, still fronted by Mangrum, announce a new studio album that seeks to honor Rickie Lee's memory and keep the flame of Southern Rock alive and burning! K.Flay has joined forces with Pierce the Veil's Vic Fuentes for new single "Irish Goodbye". It's the latest to be released in advance of K.Flay's forthcoming new studio album MONO - due out September 15th via Giant Music. "Irish Goodbye" is the album's heaviest and hardest-hitting track, an intimately detailed portrait of choosing self-preservation over succumbing to possibly toxic desire. "I was screaming in the demo to that song and eventually I realized, 'I have a friend who screams professionally, so maybe I should get him on this,'" Flaherty recalls.

"Irish Goodbye" follow's the electrifying "Shy" single, which was released in June with news of MONO, and the LP's riveting guitar-driven lead single "Raw Raw" released in April just ahead of her co-headlining tour of the US with grandson. MONO is the LA based, Illinois born artist, producer, and songwriter's fifth full-length studio album and first since waking up one morning at the end of August 2022 with total hearing loss in her right ear-a freak occurrence her doctors deemed permanent, leading her to question whether she'd ever make music again. "For a while it was upsetting to even listen to music, so at some point I had to ask myself, 'Can I still do this? Do I still want to?'" says the musician otherwise known as Kristine Flaherty. But soon after returning to the studio and resuming work on MONO, K.Flay found her sense of purpose profoundly renewed. "I felt an urgency I hadn't experienced in quite some time," she reveals. "It was like this massive sensory change had put me back into a beginner's mind, where I felt so free but also compelled to put everything I had into making the record great." (continue)

Hamilton, ON trio The Beach Bats just released their new album, "Limbo". We asked frontman Tony Doni to tell us about the single "Knockdown" to celebrate. Here is the story:

I spent a lot of time in my early twenties working construction and home reno jobs in a neighbourhood down on the beach in Hamilton (shout out to Kevin Sr.). There were a few years there where I was just trying to make enough money to burn through on the weekend and was unsure of what I would do with myself outside of playing music. Since then, I've been interested in writing a song that reflects those years in some way. I didn't know what a "construction song" might look like (cue Layin' Pipe by David Wilcox) but I went into the writing process for this one with those images in mind. (continue)
