Wolfgang does not see the discussed Eddie Van Halen tribute concert happening, but he does say that the tribute shows for late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins gave him some closure.
The Mammoth WVH mastermind was a member of Van Halen following their reunion with David Lee Roth, but he does not perform songs from the band during the sets for his solo band. (continue)
Of Mice & Men - Aaron Pauley (bass + vocals ), Valentino Arteaga (drums), Alan Ashby (guitar), and Phil Manansala (guitar) - will release their new album Tether on October 6 via SharpTone. The band kicks off the new album cycle by releasing the video for the new single 'Warpaint.'
"We're excited to share 'Warpaint' as the first single," says Aaron Pauley. "We feel like it bridges the gap between the OM&M you've heard and known, and what's to come. 'Warpaint' is a heavy and anthemic song about resilience, and rallying the courage to face your fears head on." (continue)
(hennemusic) Queen pay tribute to rock pioneer Little Richard on the latest episode of the weekly series The Greatest Live. This edition highlights the group's riotous cover version of the Little Richard classic, "Tutti Frutti", from a Wembley Stadium performance on their 1986 Magic Tour, a moment that sees the lineup play with the joy of a teenage garage band.
As Brian May told Total Guitar earlier this year, the song was a fitting choice for a band who cut their teeth on the R&B trailblazer. "When I first heard Little Richard," recalls May, "it was a moment of shock, but there was also the joy of realizing that people could actually sing that way - they could scream their emotions." Southern rockers Ghost Hounds celebrate the release of their new album, "First Last Time", by sharing a music video for their hit single "Last Train To Nowhere."
The new 10-track album hit stores this past Friday via Gibson Records. The group said of the effort, "As a band, it was kind of amazing how dialed in we were recording First Last Time. Thomas writes the songs and really leans on his ability to create characters and narratives in his head, then he tells that person's story through song. (continue)

Speaking exclusively to Rock Candy Mag as part of an in-depth 18-page Lynyrd Skynyrd story, lead vocalist Johnny Van Zant explains exactly how and why the band has decided to continue after the untimely death of founding member and guitarist Gary Rossington back in March.
"Gary's wife really sealed the deal," Johnny outlined to Rock Candy Mag editor Howard Johnson. "Dale has been singing backing vocals with Skynyrd for years and years, ever since the Tribute Tour that brought the band back together in 1987. And when Gary died, Dale said to me, 'This is what Gary did and he would want you guys to carry on.' So now more than ever I want to continue. Gary was out there carrying the legacy for the original guys - for Ronnie and Allen, for Billy and Leon - for so many years out of respect for what they did. Now I think he deserves the same kind of respect from us." (continue)
