Queen have released the latest episode of their video series The Greatest Live, "Adapting Songs - 'Seven Seas Of Rhye'". From the start, Queen pushed the limits of studio technology to accommodate their exquisite overdubs and intricate harmonies. But perhaps even more impressive was their ability to recreate that onstage without backing tapes or additional musicians, as demonstrated by this iconic November 1974 Rainbow performance.
or Queen, the two-night stand at London's Rainbow Theatre in November 1974 marked a turning point. The year had begun in dispiriting fashion, with the band heckled at January's Sunbury Pop Festival in Australia by fans demanding home-grown acts, and Brian May felled by hepatitis during the band's spring US tour under Mott The Hoople. But when the band hit the London Rainbow Theatre stage on November 19th and 20th - now armed with breakthrough album Queen II and their first hit singles in "Seven Seas Of Rhye" and "Killer Queen" - their restored confidence was palpable. Get ready to blow out your speakers with the powerful new single from Ghost Hounds, "Last Train To Nowhere." The rock and blues-fueled track comes ahead of the band's fourth studio album, FIRST LAST TIME, out July 28 via Gibson Records. If you still can't get enough of the song, you can hear it on Taylor Sheridan's new TV show, "Special Ops: Lioness," out July 23 on Paramount+.
"Last Train To Nowhere" comes to life with explosive guitar riffs, complemented by ineffable vocals from lead singer Tre Nation as he tells the story of a man confronting the fact that he lacks purpose, a legacy, and a moral compass. These themes of desolation and unfulfillment are explored further on the band's forthcoming album, First Last Time. The 10-track album is a masterclass in blues rock, with the band feeling invigorated after touring with The Rolling Stones in 2022. (continue)

Matthew Lowry just released a video for the song "All My Friends Are Selling Out". To celebrate, we asked Matthew to tell us about the track, which comes from the forthcoming full-length album "Flamingo County," set to release on September 15, 2023. Here is the story:
"All My Friends Are Selling Out" is definitely one of my favorite tracks on the album. Prior to writing this one, I had put out a couple of solo EPs with some studio musicians and was realizing that all my talented friends from the music industry had pretty much given up on any of the music life while they started families, got careers, etc. So I wrote this funny little bop about being the last one left still going for it while everyone has moved on. Took about 20 minutes to write the song on my acoustic, and I knew right away that I wanted it to be this very Weezer-like blend of garage rock and pop in the studio when that time came. (continue)
