Coldplay Song Theft Case Dropped |
While details of the case remain sealed, legal sources said a financial settlement between the two parties may have been reached. Coldplay will not be required to admit to any wrongdoing.
Last December, Satriani filed a lawsuit against the members of Coldplay and their Capitol Records label, alleging the band's song, "Viva La Vida," contained "substantial, original portions" of his 2004 track "If I Could Fly."

Metallica Is Working On Tour With Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax |
Metromix: There's a rumor going around now about the four classic thrash bands (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax) touring together. How would you feel about being part of that?
Trujillo: I think it's great. We've had a few different conversations on the subject. I'm friends with (Slayer's) Kerry King and had dinner with him a few months back, and it came up there. I think (Megadeth's) Dave Mustaine is amazing. I've never had a problem with him personally. I think it'd be great if Metallica shared the stage with his band. Metallica's still great friends with (Anthrax's) Scott Ian. There's a lot of history there. I think it'd be great for metal. I don't think all four bands have played together at the same time.
Metromix: So there's truth to the rumor?
Trujillo: There is, but nothing's concrete. It's not a sealed deal. We're working on it.

Beatles Reissues Score 13 Of Top 14 Albums |
All of The Beatles' individual album reissues are eligible to chart on both the Top Comprehensive Albums chart and Top Pop Catalog Albums chart. The former houses all albums, regardless of their age, while the latter is for those 18 months or older. The Billboard 200 tally includes only current and new releases. So, the band's two new boxed sets "Beatles in Stereo" and "Beatles in Mono" will chart on the Billboard 200, while the individual album reissues of The Beatles' catalog will chart on the Top Comprehensive Albums and Top Pop Catalog Albums charts.
While "Abbey Road" was the best-seller of The Beatles' reissues last week, the rest of the series did quite well. In order of the best-sellers following "Abbey," we have: "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (74,000), "The White Album" (60,000), "Rubber Soul" (58,000), "Revolver" (46,000), "Help!" (39,000), "Let It Be" (32,000), "Past Masters Vols. I and II" (31,000), "Magical Mystery Tour" (30,000), "A Hard Day's Night" (29,000), "The Beatles in Stereo" (26,000), "Please Please Me" (23,000), "With the Beatles" (22,000), "Beatles For Sale" (21,000), "Yellow Submarine" (14,000) and "The Beatles in Mono" (12,000).

Rolling Stone Broke |
"In 1982 they stopped paying me [royalties]. They'd signed to a different record company and had new contracts and were advised they didn't need to pay me any more.
"I should have got a lawyer. But instead I called them rude words and asked how they could just stop paying me. They all know it's not right. In fact it is outrageous. They get all the money and I get the plaudits and praise, even from Mick. I've tried to talk to Mick a couple of times, but I realise that hiring a lawyer is probably the only way they'll take me seriously. But they figure I'm not going to do anything about it."

Head Addresses Korn Rejection Claim |
"The full truth is that for about a year, ever since Jonathan publicly said he wanted me back in KoRn, KoRn's managers have been requesting my manager to work on getting me back into KoRn. The calls were initiated by KoRn's managers, not my manager. I shut the door on their requests many, many times over the last several months, through my manager. However, Fieldy personally called me during KoRn's last tour in Europe and we talked as friends for a long time. He also told me if I ever wanted to rejoin KoRn, or open for KoRn as a solo artist, the door was always open. Since Fieldy is sober now and a Christian like me, I thought it may be a good idea to visit with Fieldy, a friend of mine, to see what he was up to and what it was all about. I had a great time re-connecting with Fieldy. I mainly went to his house to connect with an old friend. The KoRn stuff we talked about was secondary, but it was discussed. Fieldy thought that Jonathan, Munky, and I should all meet AS FRIENDS; re-connect; and maybe discuss the possibilities.
"Both Jonathan and Munky refused that meeting. I learned a lot visiting with Fieldy. I learned that I love and miss my friends, but the visit confirmed to me that I have a different calling in life than to reconnect musically/professionally.

Here is a video on Indonesia's Marjinal punk scene might be of interest. The group started on the streets of Jakarta in the late 1990s, their music echoing the hostility felt toward the authoritarian regime of Suharto. Since then the band has become dedicated to helping pave the way for street kids in Indonesia. Marjinal's music is still about the message and not the money, focusing on issues of corruption, poverty, and governmental change. While they may not be as iconic as the Sex Pistols or as hard core as Leftover Crack, it seems they have embraced the true spirit of punk, that everyone owns the music. watch it here

Foreigner Preview New Album |
Twelve tracks on the new album are produced by Mick Jones and Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith and Buckcherry), with celebrated Grammy-winning producer Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse) contributing the Mick Jones-penned "Fool For You Anyway." The title track, CAN'T SLOW DOWN, was written by Mick Jones, Kelly Hansen, and Marti Frederiksen as a tribute to NASCAR in celebration of Foreigner's appearance at the Samsung 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway earlier this year. NASCAR fans bought so many CDs that day that Foreigner's 2008 release No End In Sight: The Very Best Of Foreigner was propelled back into the Billboard Top 200. The collection's second disc contains 10 remixes by Marti Frederiksen and Anthony Focx of some of the band's most well known songs, including "Feels Like The First Time," "Cold As Ice," "Urgent," "Hot Blooded," and "I Want To Know What Love Is." The remixes bring a new energy and sound definition to these classic songs.
The DVD captures the band performing many of its hits live in 5.1 surround sound. The DVD also contains performances filmed during the band's recently completed European tour. Also featured is a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of CAN'T SLOW DOWN, from writing sessions in New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles to the Walmart shareholders meeting where the exclusive partnership behind this project was finalized.
