Ozzy AIDS Scare |
Unlike KISS, Ozzy had a legitimate reason to call off his retirement plans once he discovered that he was misdiagnosed. But it turns out that MS was not the only misdiagnosis he has received in his lifetime.
The Mirror had this: "I went to the doctor and had an AIDS test and he told me it was positive," Ozzy said. "That was one of the worst days of my life."
But the former Black Sabbath star was granted a reprieve when a second test came back negative. Doctors blamed the mistake on the singer's immune system which had taken a battering from years of booze and drugs.

Eagles, Van Halen Ticket Price Inflation Alleged In New Lawsuit Against Ticketmaster |
While the scope of the Wall Street Journal report is too lengthy to cover here and the suit has more to do with a breach-of-contract dispute, a couple of highlights from the report that should be of interest to ticket buyers follows [Note: TicketNews also issued an in-depth report about this lawsuit. You can read that along with a copy of the lawsuit here.]. The Wall Street Journal reports: ...The lawsuit was filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court by Chuck Lombardo, a ticket broker in the New York area who alleges that Ticketmaster reneged on an agreement to buy his company and give him a three-year employment contract.
....Mr. Lombardo in his suit says his duties for Ticketmaster in 2008 included selling "premium tickets," essentially prime seats at higher than normal face value, for concert tours by high-profile artists, including Journey, Van Halen and other artists. People in the concert industry have said acts typically would benefit from such arrangements. Mr. Lombardo's suit says Ticketmaster agreed to pay him 6% of gross ticket sales.

Two Cow Garage Join The Hold Steady On The Road |
Comprised of Micah Schnabel (vocals, guitar), Shane Sweeney (bass, vocals), Chris Flint (guitar), Andy Schell (keyboards), and Cody Smith (drums), the outfit, which plays more than 200 shows a year (and has for the past six years), has made their darkest, yet most rewarding record to date, writing songs that deal with the problems and dilemmas of growing up, coming to terms with ones dreams versus reality, as well as songs about substance abuse, the wasting of youth (and the effects on your friends when youth is stolen too soon), navigating the troubled waters of relationships, and, of course, crushes-turned-heartbreak.
With "Speaking in Cursive", Two Cow Garage has brought on a permanent keyboard player with Andy Schell, helping the band expand on their guitar-bass-drum assault, adding depth and richer melodies to the heartbreak-on-the-sleeve lyrical bite and rock attack that Two Cow Garage is already known for.

Vocalist/guitarist Sarah Negahdari wields ominous riffs and finger-tapped arpeggios while singing with a cherubic-yet-mischievous grin. Meanwhile, the agile rhythm section of Charles Mahoney (bass/vocals) and Chris Hernandez (drums/vocals) vault and lunge with precision.
