Aerosmith Members Fear Steven Tyler May Be Back On Drugs |
"I suspect there's a lot more going on than we know about," Aerosmith's Brad Whitford told Reuters. "He has a well-documented history of drug abuse, and I find myself very suspicious. I haven't seen him do this or ... have any personal knowledge, but the isolation is very typical of addictive behavior, and his -- what I call -- irrational behavior."
Joey Kramer says in a different interview "Steven has made some poor choices as of late, and he's got some bad influences around him, and I think that for the most part he's his own worst enemy ... I just really hope that Steven puts the focus on Steven and gets healthy."

Will Pop Kill Rock?- Not Hole Lotta Love For the Rock Hall- Ozzy gets Pay-For-Screwed- Beatles 1- Justin Timberlake Sued By Fan and more top stories from 2000 |
What a year! Seems like with every turn Pop dominated the music world. Radio and the MTV airwaves were filled with it. Close your eyes for one second and suddenly the "next big thing" appeared. We had it all, a boy band break sales records, a white rapper climb to number one on the charts, teen female singer/dancers putting out one new dance song after another. Then we had plenty of female R&B singers, who liked turning two syllable words into five notes with their overblown vocal style. Of course, AC/DC returned and ignited the hard rock faithful to show that Rock will never die! But looking back, overall it looked like the music of this year was more about fashion and trends than musicianship and songs that will withstand the test of time. Has music finally reached the point of total commercial dominance, where what is popular today will be forgotten ten years from now? Where music is created with the bottom line of sales numbers in mind instead of artistic expression? The simple answer is yes, because it already has. Now look back over the description above. You may think that I was talking about the year 2000? Surprise, surprise! That was a description of 1990 not 2000. [or 2009] more
We have a long tradition here at antiMUSIC of deriding the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for being out of touch. When rock greats Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Patti Smith were passed over for induction in the class of 2001, we like so many fans were angry but not surprised. It appears we are not alone in our outrage. According to the New York Times, Courtney Love has demanded that the museum return all memorabilia belonging to her and Kurt Cobain. more
