Mandy Moore Sets Album Release
PR reports: Mandy Moore returns with the highly anticipated, Amanda Leigh to be released May 26, 2009 on Storefront Recordings a new partnership with RED Music.

Primarily co-written by Moore and Mike Viola, Amanda Leigh was recorded at engineer, Ducky Carlisle's modest basement studio in his home outside of Boston and features an impressive and eclectic collection of vintage equipment utilized throughout the album. Sharing many of the same musical influences of artists such as Todd Rundgren, Joni Mitchell, CSNY and Nilsson, among many others, Moore and Viola set out to create a compelling body of work, in which the instrumentation mirrors so much of what inspired and guided the duo from the onset.

The resulting collaboration, Amanda Leigh (Moore's given name), is a collection of personal reflections and insights about life and love as evidenced in songs such as "Nothing Everything," "Song About Home," and "Love to Love Me Back" the latter also written with Inara George of The Bird and the Bee. Experimentation was also prevalent and encouraged throughout the writing/recording process, as exemplified in the rather tongue-in-cheek, "I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week" originally a very alt-country sounding demo that quickly took on a new life with the addition of the clavinet, while "Everblue," co-written with Lori McKenna, simarily transformed with the inclusion of the Farfisa and Wurlitzer.

Juan MacLean Sets Release
PR reports: The Future Will Come, The Juan MacLean's highly anticipated sophomore album will be released April 14th on DFA Records.

Unabashedly emotional, both in lyrically and musically, it's difficult not to let each song take over your head and body, turning you into the dancing, breathing robot Juan MacLean and Nancy Whang (of LCD Soundsystem) sing about.

With the help of DFA label mates Gerry Fuchs (formerly of !!!), Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel (both of Holy Ghost!), and, of course, Nancy, Juan was able to put together album full of surprises, book ended with two 2008 club hits, "The Simple Life" and "Happy House", that set the stage for the release of The Future Will Come. Opening with "The Simple Life", released to the masses last year, is dark and hypnotic. Closing with "Happy House", the Chicago House-heavy, International club anthem that graced many a 2008 best of lists from Pitchdork [They had to go and spoil the hype] to Time Out New York to the Village Voice's Pazz & Jop. - more on this story
