Kevin Costner Wants To Help Stage Collapse Victims |
"We are so sad about the loss of life and injury that occurred on a day that carried so much promise, but turned so wicked so quickly," the actor said in a statement Monday. "We hope to return to Alberta in the future to help with the healing."
Costner and his band, Modern West, were the next band scheduled to take the stage when a terrifying windstorm swept through the site of the Big Valley Jamboree.

This vicious, uncompromising quartet, led by mastermind Blake Judd return with the Doomsday Derelicts four-song EP that was recorded at Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago, in May 2008.
The guys basically found out Steve Albini's studio (Electrical Audio) had an opening, so they all went in and recorded some songs. It was just a laid back, have a few beers and record some thrashy, more straight ahead metal stuff vs. the psychedelic nature of Assassins. These four songs were engineered and produced by Sanford Parker (Minsk), with the CD version released on Blake's own Battle Kommand Records. The digital version is available beginning today

Lacuna Coil Wrapping US Tour, Plot Return This Fall |
The month long trek across the Western portion of the country kicked off on the Fourth of July in El Paso, TX, hitting 17 other cities along the way. Kill Hannah, Seventh Void, and Dommin accompanied Lacuna Coil on their first US tour since they rocked the main stage of the Music as a Weapon Tour last spring.
Following the successful run on the American Spellbound Tour, Lacuna Coil will head back to Europe to play a few festival shows, before returning to the US for a slew of dates in August. The band will then return home to rest up, before hitting the states again this fall.

Thrice Set Release And Preview New Album |
September 15 will be the day that the newly beefed up physical CD will be in stores. The package will include a download card featuring five bonus tracks � two b-sides ("Answered," "Red Telephone") which were recorded during the Beggars sessions, as well as a hot-off-the-presses studio rendition of The Beatles' "Helter Skelter" � a fan favorite from recent Thrice live shows. Also included are a remix of "All The World Is Mad" by Free The Robots and a remix of "Circles" by Textual.
Thrice is confirmed as main support on a portion of Brand New's recently announced fall US tour. Their leg begins October 25 in Lubbock, TX and wraps up in Philadelphia on November 14. Thrice's headline dates begin the next day in Pittsburgh, PA at Diesel and more dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Outloud! is the hottest new band is hard rock today. Formed by guitarists Tony Kash and Bob Katsionis (Firewind) in Athens in 2004, the guys are now a five-piece also including singer-extraordinaire Chandler Mogel (ex-Talon), drummer Mark Cross (Firewind, ex-Helloween and Kingdom Come), and bassist Jason Mercury.
Fans of early Skid Row, Hurricane, Foreigner, and TNT should watch out and request the single "We Run" on your favorite rock show!

Tiny Masters of Today Mini Tour |
The Chicago performance will be particularly special as Tiny Masters Of Today serve as both opening band and backing band for Daniel Johnston's headline show.
In Philly Tiny Masters of Today are set to open for DFA 's Free Energy. The band � who recently rocked out on the main stage at the Coney Island Siren Festival � are brother and sister Ivan and Ada (ages 15 and 13 respectively). Performing with them on stage will be drummer Jackson Pollis.

Osso Touring Behind Surjan Remix Album |
The album is due out October 6 on Asthmatic Kitty Records. Also featured on the tour will be screenings of Stevens' The BQE, a 40-minute symphonic and cinematic exploration of New York's infamous Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
A string quartet with a modernist pulse, Osso has contributed string arrangements to Stevens' Illinois as well as My Brightest Diamond's Bring Me the Workhorse. Members of Osso have also performed with array of artists including Jay-Z, Alice and Ravi Coltrane, The New Pornographers, Antony and the Johnsons, The Polyphonic Spree, The National, Devotchka and Kanye West. On tour they will perform selections from Run Rabbit Run, which features Stevens' oblique glitches, repetitive trills and experimental textures rearranged for the string quartet by a number of composers including Nico Muhly, Michael Atkinson, Maxim Moston, Gabriel Kahane and others.

This Dot Dash release (home to artists such as Lee Memorial and St Helens) was produced by Chris Colonna (Bumblebeez) and sonically, Science and Sorcery transitions between deep rock grooves and psychedelic explosions to dueling tribal beats and laser-guided rhythms.
Wolf & Cub have been busy honing their craft for this, their second album and recently supported artists such as TV On The Radio, The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age, Wolfmother and Primal Scream.

Ecliptica Set Debut |
Ecliptica is a heavy metal band from Austria founded by guitarist Markus Winkler in 2005. He put together a line-up with six members in total, together with the other guitar player Bernie Scholz, Thomas Tieber and Elisabeth Fangmeyer on vocals, plus Florian Thur and Roman Klomfar on bass and drums, respectively.
Ecliptica soon started to write songs and in April 2007 released their critically acclaimed first EP "The Awakening" in front of 500 people at Planet Music Vienna. During the promotion for the EP, Ecliptica won the "Metal Battle Austria 2007" contest and played a live set at the world famous "Wacken Open Air" in Germany, and also landed a support slot for the major US prog metal gods Symphony X.
