Guitar Hero World Tour Track Unearthed

PR reports: Starting May 7, 'Grave of Opportunity' from Massachusetts metallers Unearth will be available as a downloadable track on the Guitar Hero World Tour. The song is from the band's latest album, the critically acclaimed The March, which hit streets last October. The song is part of the Ferret Music/Metal Blade Track Pack, which also contains The Devil Wears Prada's 'Dez Moines', and Chimaira's 'On Broken Glass'.

Lead guitarist Buz McGrath had this to say about the Guitar Hero release, "Yo! Unearth is jazzed that our song 'Grave of Opportunity' will be available for download for Guitar Hero World Tour. It's a kick-ass tune that is wicked fun to play, so start practicing your super awesome Guitar Hero moves. Get ready to feel the burn when 'Grave of Opportunity' drops May 7th!"

The Raveonettes Get Festive

PR reports: Danish duo The Raveonettes are currently hard at work writing the tunes that will comprise their fourth LP.

Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo will return to Denmark in May to record the album, slated for release early this fall on Vice Music.

The band will return to the US for festival dates, including stops at Chicago's Lollapalooza, NYC's Siren Festival, and Austin City Limits. Their appearance at ACL will be the kick off for an extensive North American headlining tour, the dates of which they'll be announcing soon. - more on this story

Del the Funky Homosapien Releases New Album For Free

PR reports: Less than a year after the release of his last album, Hieroglyphics member and co-founder Del the Funky Homosapien joins the ranks of Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails with the free release of his new album, Funk Man: The Stimulus Package via Funnyman Entertainment. Del is currently on a nationwide promotional tour for the album and will be playing in over 30 cities.

Chimaira Top Themselves

PR reports: Chimaira has exploded onto the Billboard Top 200 charts with the debut of their crushing new album, The Infection. The album landed at #30, with over 15,000 units sold. The Infection is the band's fifth studio album and the follow up to their acclaimed 2007 release, Resurrection� which debuted at #42 on Billboard.

Vocalist Mark Hunter commented on The Infection's success: "We can't thank our fans enough for supporting this album and spreading the word. In this day and age, when sales are down, and the economy is ----, the fact that we sold what we did is a miracle. We owe it to our fans for keeping us a relevant, top-tier band in the metal genre. Rob Halford Talks About Upcoming Judas Priest Tour

BW&BK reports: UK metal gods Judas Priest announced recently that they would celebrating the 30th anniversary of their legendary 1980 album British Steel by performing the whole album in its entirety during their upcoming North American tour with Whitesnake.

BraveWords.com spoke to vocal icon Rob Halford this week about a number of topics including the much talked about tour which commences in late June at Murat Centre in Indianapolis, IN.

"I'm going to be going over to the UK shortly and getting into learning all the British Steel stuff," Halford starts off. "Isn't that great?! I'm so excited that we are coming back to the Molson Ampitheater (in Toronto on August 13th, 2008) so quickly. The last time we were there it was so explosive and off the hook and the time before that was just as intense. It's remarkable. You know how sometimes everything becomes a blur, but those two shows are so vivid in my memory, absolutely vivid as anything just because of the amazing time the fans gave us. Fingers crossed we will get the same vibe going when we come back with Whitesnake." - more on this story

Paolo Nutini North American Tour Announced

Atlantic reports: Paolo Nutini has unveiled plans for a major North American headline tour. The dates celebrate the release of the Scottish-born singer/songwriter's eagerly awaited second album, "Sunny Side Up," which arrives everywhere on June 2nd.

Paolo and his band, The Vipers, will kick off the tour on July 20th at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York.

The dates continue through mid-August, with further shows to be revealed in the coming weeks. Support on all announced dates comes from Erin McCarley and labelmate Matt Hires. - more on this story

Parachute Hitting the Road With O.A.R.

Mercury Records reports: As the release date of their Mercury Records debut album Losing Sleep approaches on May 19th, Parachute moves into a final week of college dates and gear up for their spring tour with O.A.R.

Parachute's tour schedule, kicked off the first at South By Southwest (SXSW) Music & Media Conference in Austin, Texas, where they were included in the IFC Channel's SXSW Behind the Badge half-hour special throughout April highlighting them as one of the best of 2009's showcases.

On TV next month, their song "Back Again" has been confirmed for the May 19th episode of 90210's season finally on the CW, while "She Is Love" will be featured on One Tree Hill, May 4th. And on May 30th, Parachute will perform "She Is Love" and "Under Control" on the CBS Early Show. - more on this story

A 9mm Solution Found For Psychostick Tour

Rock Ridge reports: Milwaukee-based metal band 9mm Solution, which features ex-Morta Skuld member Dave Gregor, is set to release its sophomore album, "The Dream Is Dead," on Rock Ridge Music on June 9, 2009.

9mm Solution plans to tour heavily in support of the forthcoming album (see announced tour dates below), including a number of dates with labelmates Psychostick.

The group once again enlisted the help of SOIL bassist Tim King to produce and Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Deftones, Pantera) to do some mixing on the project. Basic tracks were completed at Mercenary Studios with Scott Creekmore, and with the exception of two songs, the tracks were mixed and mastered by Chris Djuricic at Belle City Studios. "The time around, we felt as if we had truly gotten the right formula for our sound," says guitarist Gregor. - more on this story

Ross Robinson Changing The Music Biz

PR reports: Ross Robinson, world-renowned music producer for the Cure, At the Drive In, Sepultura, Slipknot, Norma Jean, Korn and other countless successes will go into the recording studio with Long Beach band, Repeater to record their second album on April 28.

The band's debut full-length, "Iron Flowers" came out summer 2008 which Robinson heard through the band's MySpace Music page, using social media A&R as his tool for musical discovery.

Robinson is foregoing upfront recording costs to launch his music discovery model. In an effort to promote the band's content, Robinson and Repeater formed the White Label Collective, abandoning the traditional record-label protocol for music discovery and distribution. - more on this story
