Portugal. The Man Week: Day 4 |
And I - This song is about love. I like that. I think this song has on overall good feel to it from start to finish. It was one of the first things we recorded when we went up to Seattle. I was placed in a dark room with candles and incense and I played the intro a bunch of times. It made for a somber mood but I feel like the song as a whole is very hopeful. I think people like that in music especially in desperate times. The overall sound of the recording is probably my favorite on the record. When the song first started it seemed it was going to turn out very different but I love how it turned out. Jason did some great drumming on this song with his Pink Floydish drum fills on the chorus. It just feels good.

Slank Plot US Tour |
Slank's decidedly Western sound has a broad appeal to lovers of pop music with a rock edge. Its lyrics, however, draw from its Indonesian foundation, focusing on the trials and tribulations of living in a struggling, third-world country. The album's title, in fact, is not an ode to the lovesick, but a reference to the Indonesian people.
Slank is prepared to support the release of "Anthem for the Broken Hearted" with a U.S. tour this fall, though the dates will not be Slank's first in America.
