Led Zeppelin Plan 4 North American Shows
antiMusic reports: Music Music claims a reliable source said that Led Zeppelin has four dates planned in North America. Here is their report: Everyone knows about Led Zeppelin's reunion show in London, UK this past December. Naturally, it was both magical and nostalgic. And a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity, right? Maybe not.

So NME confirmed late last year that Led Zeppelin had plans to go on tour sometime in 2008. Well, a reliable source just gave me a scoop on some Toronto dates. Apparently these dates will be announced shortly...but now you know.

No fancy tour of the U.S., but Toronto will have FOUR dates at Skydome/Rogers Centre this coming August. AMAZING. Hardly any bands play Skydome anymore because it's such a juggernaut of a venue and impossible to fill unless you're, well, Led Zeppelin. Or maybe Backstreet Boys. - more on this story

Suge To Get A Rematch In The Boxing Ring?
TMZ reports: Suge Knight might get his rematch against the guy who knocked him out in one punch -- and it'll all go down in Las Vegas. If all goes to plan, the fight would go down on New Year's Eve and the winner would receive a cool million bucks.

TMZ has learned that several Las Vegas promoters -- including Jeff Beacher of Beacher's Madhouse -- have invited Suge Knight and the guy who knocked him out to face up in a bare-knuckled cage match.

TMZ later got a hold of the guy who fought Suge and learned: If someone wants to pay the guy who knocked out Suge Knight $1 mil to fight him for real in Vegas -- like TMZ reported -- he'll take it. - Watch the video

Miley Cyrus Stole Song?
PR reports: Recently Los Angeles based band Lustra was reviewing the emails on their myspace page and they noticed several emails that conveyed the same idea - their song - "Scotty Doesn't Know" - taken from their album Left For Dead sounded identical to "Rockstar" by Miley Cyrus -aka Hannah Montana.

The band listened to both tracks and realized the similarities themselves. "Scotty Doesn't Know" was recorded for the movie EUROTRIP, starring Matt Damon, which was released in 2004, and well in advance of Cyrus' "Rockstar", released in 2006. In another strange coincidence their producer out of Boston, was connected to the television hit series "Hannah Montana". The idea was now not so farfetched. The band also noticed something on the Billboard Magazine charts - "Scotty Doesn't Know" was at 75 while Ms. Cyrus was just starting to work her way up the charts - her song "Who Said" was at 92.

When confronted with the idea, the producer refused to return calls. Nick Cloutman, Lustra's guitarist, offered, "Although we are very flattered that Ms. Cyrus took this route, we would have preferred some credit."

Wedding Fall Out As Witchhunt Finds Pregnant Ashlee
Hecklerspray reports: Hooray for love and life! Ashlee Simpson has married Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and has a little celebrity hybrid leeching on her insides. They swapped declarations of love and commitment in front of close friends and family yesterday during a fairytale wedding ceremony (it was Alice in Wonderland themed) and Ashlee chose to reveal her pregnancy to everyone at the reception, OK! Magazine reported.

Barely a month has passed since Ashlee announced her engagement to Wentz. Barely a month has passed since the pregnancy rumours started. Back then Pete Wentz said this: There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. Oh yeah, hecklerspray knows how to hunt down a witch!

Poor old Pete Wentz; one minute you're a single guy in a world famous rock band with endless possibilities ahead of you, having your merry way with a myriad of mentally malnourished girls; the next you're stuck with just one of those girls, in a legally bound cage, for at least the next 18 years. [So does this mean the gay thing is true too?] - more fun on this at Hecklerspray

Savage Infection for Def Leppard
birminghammail.net reports: Def Leppard bassist Rick 'Sav' Savage is not looking his best when I meet him the morning after the band's intimate performance at London's Carling Academy Islington.

There were just a few hundred invited guests and competition winners in attendance and Sav says: "It was like the club gigs we did before the debut album came out in 1980."

But Sav adds that he went on stage in some discomfort - and he's still suffering. "I've been a little under the weather with a kidney infection which leaves me weak," he reveals. "When we came off stage I told the others that I wouldn't want to do that kind of show every night for a living!" - more on this story

Tom Scholz Talks Les Pauls
antiMusic reports: Forget the Strat, rock's most legendary guitar is named after the man that invented the electric guitar and has fueled some of rock's most notorious songs. We're talking of course about the Gibson Les Paul with the distinctive sound which helped create the classic music of Led Zeppelin, KISS, Aerosmith, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Bob Marley (his Les Paul was buried with him!), Zakk Wylde, and Tom Scholz, the mastermind behind Boston. Gibson.com caught up with Tom recently to talk about his long love affair with the Les Paul. Here is part of that conversation:

Gibson: What first turned you on about Les Pauls? Tom: They sound great―period. The first time I saw somebody play one was Jimmy Page and then I heard Jeff Beck use one on Truth. Then, I heard someone play a Goldtop in a bar and I thought it was the sweetest sounding thing. "Where do you find a guitar like that?" A couple years later that guy had to sell his equipment and offered me that very guitar for 300 bucks. It's the same one I use today. Now it has a Mighty Mouse on it. That was a bumper sticker I cut out and stuck on, then buried under 14 layers of lacquer. It's been there for 22 years now so it's not going anywhere.

Gibson: You're famous for having gigantic tone. How much of that comes from your Les Pauls? Tom: They do have a huge sound. It's tough to quantify that. I've compared them in great depth to lots of other guitars, and I couldn't even put that into technical terms. But the sound is big with lots of character, and if you want a chunky sound it's there or if you want a pure, crystal clear tone it does that. I just don't get that range from other guitars. - Read the full interview here

Miley Says Brit and Lindsay Act Normal
antiMusic reports: We couldn't pass this one up, it's just too funny. Apparently Britney and Lindsay's outrageous behavior is like totally normal for like old people who are like 21 to 25 year-old. This according to celebwreck in training Miley Cyrus. Hecklerspray has the story: Miley Cyrus has spoken out in defence of the worth of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan's lives.

She has described their behavior as 'normal' for girls their age and suggested they have 'good hearts'; a case of the pot defending the kettle for being black, perhaps? According to Yahoo, Miley said:

"Everyone has their time. And I think most 21 to 25-year-olds go through this kind of thing. Basically, they're being normal 21-year-olds, especially Lindsay. I mean, most of that's pretty normal. If you went to most high schools, I could point out Britneys and Lindsays." - more on this story

Bowie Musical
antiMusic reports: The only thing shocking about this story is that it hasn't been done before. If anyone's music was made to be incorporated into a musical (that doesn't suck), it's David Bowie. Gigwise has the story: David Bowie has reportedly given the go-ahead to a musical that will borrow songs from his back-catalogue.

Along with the director Peter Schaufuss, Bowie is to bring the sci-fi film The Man Who Fell To Earth to the stage.

The production will fuse Bowie's songs with the 1976 film. [But when will it hit Vegas or Broadway? Doesn't look like it will be anytime soon, find out where it will probably open - here

Nudge It Up a Notch
conqueroo reports: What would happen if you combined Steve Cropper, the Memphis-weaned Stax guitar powerhouse who also wrote and co-wrote many soul classics, with Felix Cavaliere, the singer, songwriter and keyboardist whose soulful voice and songs helped form the Rascals? The world is about to find out when Stax Records releases Steve Cropper and Felix Cavaliere's Nudge It Up a Notch on July 29, 2008.

This soul summit came about as a result of conversations between Cropper and producer/songwriter Jon Tiven. When Tiven moved to Nashville several years ago, he asked Cropper what he was up to. Cropper replied that he was focusing on live dates with Booker T & the MGs and the Blues Brothers, but harbored the desire to record some new music. But who would sing? The answer, it turned out, was Cavaliere, who, like Cropper and Tiven, now lived in Nashville. In fact Cropper and Cavaliere were no strangers: they had, with a few other well-known musicians, put together a band to play special events. The two hadn't written together before, but agreed it would be fun to try.

"The 'Blackest of the Black' tour is for extreme bands that sell out venues across the country, that sell records, but don't get radio play or get on MTV," DANZIG mainman Glenn Danzig, who masterminded the tour, previously said. "It's anti the corporate crap nu-rap-metal that gets shoved down fans' throats at other concerts." [Love you Glenn, but nu-rap-metal hasn't been popular in years.
