"Enterprise" is a song that actually came about in the studio. I sat down and wrote all the guitar parts, but I had no idea what to do with it. I showed it to our producer, Johnny K. He loved the music, so we decided to make the theme of the song "world domination".
We recorded the rough version of the music, and then I grabbed a pen and paper, and sat in the studio blasting the music and wrote the words to it. Enterprise!!!!!

On the same query over the future for the Sony BMG alliance, Ostrowski chimed in with a handful of scenarios. "We might take over 100%, or sell our 50% to Sony so that they have 100% or we might continue the joint venture," he said. "All three outcomes are possible."
Bertelsmann and Sony's five-year retention period for the joint venture is due to expire in the summer of next year. "However, that doesn't mean that we then have to really do anything. Instead, it has to be decided by a partner. In the meantime, we will continue to develop our business jointly," says Rabe.

Because there aren't enough "Commodify Your Dissent" jokes out there, the Daily Swarm is reporting that Converse plans to release a line of Kurt Cobain-inspired sneakers as part of the company's 100th-anniversary celebration.
Unlike the Doc Martens campaign from last year, this line of footwear is approved by Courtney Love, perhaps because Cobain loved One-Stars so much, he decided to die in them.

Daniel Biechele, who set off pyrotechnics as tour manager for the rock band GREAT WHITE that ignited one of the nation's deadliest nightclub fires, will serve out the final two years of his sentence on parole in his home state of Florida while living with the high school sweetheart he wed just weeks before reporting to prison.
"I actually feel sorry for him because that's something he has to carry - that burden - for the rest of his life," said James Gahan, whose 21-year-old son, Jimmy, died in the fire.

Thrashpit: Both Down and many of your bands (particularly Eyehategod) deal extensively with the subject of substance abuse. What are the most important things you've learned about alcohol and drugs over the years? Jimmy: You don't need drugs to be yourself. It took me years to figure that one out. It is sad how kids get mixed up in the drugs. It all starts at home---if you're looking for drugs or doing drugs, you're looking for something you never got, a feeling you never got. If people nowadays gave their kids that sense of love when they're young, maybe they wouldn't find it in a tinfoil bag of drugs or a bunch of pills. If you know what love is, you probably have it. I don't regret all those years with drugs---it was a great learning experience---but I can write great music when I'm not loaded on them as well. My playing now is like night-and-day different since getting clean. I'm more focused and better at getting things started too.

Recently, rumors regarding the April 15 announcement have leaked onto the internet. These rumors contain information that is blatantly false and completely unfounded. THIS FALSE CONTENT IS TO BE REMOVED FROM YOUR SITE IMMEDIATELY. Any false rumors which are not removed are subject to potential future litigation.
Our first thought is to ask if any First Amendment lawyers want to take a shot at this? The Blabbermouth story we quoted from clearly labeled this rumor as a rumor and later said they are based on unconfirmed reports. Had they sent out a message simply saying that the rumors were not true and asked us to correct the story, we would have no problem with that. But when they start threatening litigation is where we have an issue. As a result of this we will no longer cover 10th Street artists including Blondie, Buckcherry, Debbie Harry, DJ Ashba, Drowning Pool, Everclear, Hanson, Jonny Lives!, Marion Raven, Meat Loaf, Motley Crue, Papa Roach, Royal Underground, Sixx: AM, or The Exies. (We may make an exception if one of their artists overdoses or catches on fire from smoking while applying their hairspray.) We hate to boycott any artists due to the actions of their label or management, but to be threatened with litigation for covering them and reporting rumors clearly labeled as rumors, it's just not worth it. Besides there are plenty of more current artists to cover. So for the record we are thru with the Crue.

For those not immediately familiar with the group, it's a project put together by Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green. The new album, "The Odd Couple," wasn't expected until next month but they decided that March 18th sounded better. Perhaps they thought it would be a good hangover cure, or the fact that it was leaked online had something to do with it. It's available at iTunes right now and retailers have the green light to sell it as soon as it arrives at the stores, which could be as soon as today according to Billboard.
"They felt the timing was right to just go for it," says a statement on the band's site. "With the shifting seasons, furtive romantic entanglements and fierce college basketball rivalries, the latter half of March can be confusing. People need to be soothed and inspired now."

The Roots co-founder ?uestlove states, "This is probably our most political album to date dealing with addiction, nihilism, hypocritical double standards in the prison system and overall life in Philadelphia . I'd say it's more mature and intense than all of our efforts but not a 'downer' as most people expect us to do."
