"Light From Above" is a song that was written while we were in the studio. It's one of the newest songs on the album. One night while I was playing the piano, Gabriel grabbed his guitar, and we spit out a cool jam session. It eventually turned into "Light From Above".
I recorded the piano part on our producer's grand piano and layered it with a keyboard to get a unique sound. When I wrote the part, I never imagined that I'd be playing it live, but it turns out that I can. "Light From Above" is one of my favorite songs.

"I understand that we have it, although I imagine there will be plenty of bands prepared to kick and punch us out of the way for the privilege!" said McKagan. "I would so love to have been at their London gig before Christmas, but we had dates of our own that obviously took precedence.
"What made up for it was running into Jimmy Page at an awards ceremony and him not only knowing who I was, but also saying he'd caught a couple of VELVET REVOLVER shows. No way did I think in 1977 when I saw LED ZEP in Seattle that one day I'd be hanging out with the guitarist. Things like that I still pinch myself!"

Gigwise has some more details: Sixty-two-year-old Ola Brunkert played with the band on their first single 'People Need Love' and toured with them in 1977, 1979 and 1980. He is the only musician, alongside bassist Rutger Gunnarsson, to be credited on all of the group's albums, and retired to Majorca after the break-up of the band twenty-five years ago.
The BBC reports that police believe Brunkert hit his head on a glass window on Sunday afternoon, sustaining fatal neck wounds from broken glass. He managed to wrap a towel around his neck and stagger through the garden in search of help before collapsing.

Maybe now Paul will remember what he was thinking when he wrote "Can't Buy Me Love". Here are some details about the judge's decision from an AP report: A document released by the Family Court said the judge awarded Mills a lump sum of $33 million plus the assets she currently holds worth $15.6 million.
McCartney, 65, and Mills, 40, went to court last month to decide on Mills' share of his fortune, which had been estimated at as much as $1.6 billion... Mills [originally] sought almost $250 million, while McCartney had said she should receive $31.6 million, including her own assets, which the court assessed at $15.6 million.

This announcement about the announcement is a bit short on details. All they told us is that Motley Thru will make a "colossal announcement in Los Angeles on April 15 (location tbd). This will by far be one of the biggest music announcements of the year!!" They'll also fly out some contest winners to be at the press conference to hear this history changing announcement in person! We'll give you the link later on.
The last time we heard such a big announcement about a big announcement was last year when Sharon Osbourne announced that she would make a significant announcement about Ozzfest. That turned out to be about last year's "free fest" scheme, which in the end turned out that people have lost so much interest in Ozzfest that they couldn't give tickets away.
- What could this momentous announcement be? We are not sure, but here are our best guesses

The first stage of the competition begins today and continues through April 27, inviting all artists, animators, writers, character designers and more, to submit storyboards that may range from basic sketches with words to more complex submissions in video formats, using the song of their choice from In Rainbows. Artists have the option to compete solo or to ask Aniboom to match them with other entrants whose talents complement their own.

Commented Kaufmann: "I was barely able to escape and I'm VERY lucky to be alive. It was their intent to take everything I had and then kill me. The Oakland police caught them about an hour later and I made a positive identification.
"[Local TV station] Channel 7 will be doing a story about it because the crime was witnessed by BART police and they were too afraid to help me. I'm pretty much a wreck right now and I haven't slept much at all. What the ---- is this world coming to?"

"The club in Houston was one such club, but the word was not passed down to me. Ignorant of any preparations taken by security to handle the "melee" if such did occur, when Jordan went to the barricade to help people over, he was tackled by security (an action which exerted far more force than was required) and his guitar was broken. Seeing his guitar in shambles, I grabbed the mic stand and jumped in the security guards direction with every intention of using it violently and or sexually.
"The next part is a blur. I BELIEVE as I was jumping off the stage, a security guard grabbed the stand from behind and pulled me to the ground where I split my head on the barricade. I shook it off as best I could and went after the ENORMOUS security guard that was on top of Jordan, hitting him in what the jerky boys once called 'the face, breast, chest, neck and head'.

The band seems to be following the trajectory of previous "secret" Green Day side project, The Network, which first released their album independently before being "upstreamed" to Green Day's major label home.
Though no details have been made available about the record itself, it looks to be priced as a full length despite the band's free release being only a six-song EP.

Here is what she had to say about the real reason they cancelled the tour: "We tried to be as honest as we could with it, without giving our life stories, and it definitely did come back to bite us, but in the end, it was the best thing for us to do, to communicate with our fans that we needed time. We needed time to come home and catch our breath," Williams said.
But what about that baby Paramore that Haley supposedly has in the oven?: "Well, as you can see, I am still a twig. Nothing in there but last night's dinner," she laughed, patting her stomach. "It's really funny how that pregnancy thing came up. It's happened before too. Someone said I was pregnant with some dude in some band's baby, like two years ago. It's hilarious, really."

Yet another Jamaican engineering student drawn to the country's pop scene, Michael Campbell's "Dread At The Controls" show on JBC radio quickly became essential listening during reggae's '70s heyday, so much so that word of Dread's reputation soon reached reggae fans who had never even stepped onto the island.
The show's grass-roots appeal at home and abroad helped launch his own influential career as an artist and producer after unsuccessfully wrangling with JBC higher-ups over his dub-focused playlists.
