Attorneys on both sides told Superior Court Judge Richard Fruin on Monday they had resolved the case, but terms of the settlement were not made public.
Jani Lane, whose real name is John Oswald, filed the suit in August, seeking unspecified compensatory and general damages. Lane said he entered a deal with Virgin Songs Inc. in August 1988 in which he was to be paid royalties and other sums for his published compositions.

Jackson attorney L. Londell McMillan told The Associated Press the pop star has worked out a "confidential" agreement with Fortress Investment Group LLC allowing him to retain ownership of the famed property in Los Olivos, Calif.
The property was scheduled to be auctioned March 19 after Jackson went into default on the $24.5 million he owes on the 2,500-acre spread

A companion to WFUV's highly acclaimed flagship programming, which will continue in its present format, the new channel will provide the city's burgeoning indie music scene with a full-time local radio outlet and connect artists and music lovers in New York and across the globe. The new channel will be available at wfuv.org and on HD Radio at 90.7 FM in the New York City area beginning in Fall 2008. The channel is supported in part by The New York State Music Fund, established by the New York State Attorney General at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. It will also feature a unique social networking website, created with support from the Public Media Innovation Fund of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Reeves is best-known for co-writing Caillat's smash single "Bubbly," which has topped the Hot AC, AC and AAA Radio charts and went to #2 at Top 40. Reeves also co-wrote and sang on Caillat's new single, "Realize," currently one of the fastest rising songs on the Top 40 and Hot AC charts.
Reeves' new release, The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and Other Frightening Tales), showcases his vocal and songwriting abilities in an album about a relationship from beginning to end. Adventures channels the 1970s Laurel Canyon era with Reeves' modern twist that is gaining him notoriety as part of the next generation of folk-influenced singer/songwriters.

The performance sets the stage for a major sales and marketing re-launch of INDIANA on June 17, expanded to include "So Close" and Jon's new (non-album) single "Smack In To You." The track was written and produced by Tricky and The-Dream, the hitmakers responsible for Rihanna's "Umbrella," Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" and more. The new edition of INDIANA, in-store date to be announced in the weeks ahead, is also expected to include a number of B sides and live tracks. Meanwhile, "Smack In To You" is already being added online to digital versions of the album.

"MAIL ON SUNDAY" sees Flo Rida teaming with some of today's top hit makers, including Timbaland, will.I.am, The Runners, J.R. Rotem, and Atlanta's DJ Montay, who produced "Low." He has also recruited a who's who of A-list collaborators, among them Atlantic Records labelmate Trey Songz (on "Freaky Deaky"), Lil Wayne (who appears on the album opener, "American Superstar"), Yung Joc (featured on the raucous party anthem "Don't Know How To Act"), and Timbaland, who shows up on the album's second single, "Elevator." Executive Producers of "MAIL ON SUNDAY" are E-Class and Mike Caren.
The Carol City, FL native will celebrate the release of "MAIL ON SUNDAY" with appearances next week on BET's 106 & Park and MTV's TRL. He is also slated for a return appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when her show hits Orlando the first week of April.
