Pierre de Reeder (Rilo Kiley) Week: Day 3 |
That's The Way That It Was -I really just followed my nose in producing this one, just letting it "go there" with having horns, and tack piano, and frolicking guitar and the like. I got to enlist Dave Trumfio on bass and his brother Harry on drums. Up to that point, I don't know if the two had really laid it down together since they had their band The Pulsars. Anyway, musically, it was just a fun song to build up. Lyrically, it was again inescapably personal and reflective and just sort of a comment both the down and dirty now and the then.

Built expressly for the purpose of showcasing live music, The Hollywood Palladium opened its doors on September 23, 1940 with a concert by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra featuring the soon to be famous Frank Sinatra. Bear Vs... oops Sounds of Animals Fighting Set Release |
Characterized by their experimental mashing and molding of musical form, style and genre, the members of The Sound of Animals Fightingknown only by their zoological pseudonymshave sought to redefine the process and reception of music using whatever tools they can get their hands on; whatever methods, science or alchemy.
The Walrus, the Skunk, the Lynx, and the Nightingale return, delivering the latest piecemeal collaboration as both an album aimed at redefining the structure and style of modern music, as well as telling a story of the raw, awe-inspiring power of nature, and how we can so easily forget it. The record, like the ones that preceded it, was assembled over gaps of geography and time, coalescing as a hand-crafted object from percussion up, passing from one animal to another as a story and aesthetic formed beneath and around it.

Mega Pain for Megadeth Frontman |
The next day the Doctor (and I say that reluctantly) said that I had stenosis, and acted like it was just indigestion and went on talking to someone else. Needless to say I was pissed by his cavalier attitude and when he told me that there was nothing I could do except take two Aleve and get used to it I felt doomed.
After two more years of destroying my neck and back on tour and ruining my liver from the medication I finally went to the Kieran Jobe Clinic in Anaheim and my Dr. Orr Limpisvasti did more x-rays, and requested I get another series of MRI's done. I was also to be fitted with a brace, and a traction unit, and Physical Therapy. AGAIN WITH THE F**KING PT! This time it's for six months. I went there on Thursday to find out the results of the MRI. This was the day that I find out if I go under the knife or not. Thursday was the day I found out the damage. And oddly enough, ever since I went to the dude Todd Bentley that everyone is saying is a healer; my back has been feeling better. It could be psychosomatic, but I digress. The Doctor came in the room and turned on the lightbox (what they use to view x-rays) and gave me the news. I have been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease and arthritis in my neck and that is what's causing all of the problems in my back.

Band Milking Myspace Ban For Max Attention |
Thanks to the overwhelming hysteria surrounding Oceano's controversial promo pictures, a large number of messages have been pouring into the band's MySpace page from clubs across the country. Here's an example: "It has been brought to our attention that there were some images of the band that were banned from myspace. Because we are an all ages, family friendly venue we pride ourselves on providing a positive atmosphere for the kids that come in to see shows. Unfortunately, because of those images and the lyrics to the songs we have found there is no way you guys will be able to meet those guidelines"
Members of Oceano have been in contact with several local promoters and club owners to try and explain their side of things. However, between the shock of the banned photos and the band's ever-growing reputation as a dangerous live act, Oceano's words have been to little avail. "Everyone's been getting word that we're crazy and our fans are even crazier;" says Oceano guitarist, Andrew Mikhail. "We're pros! We're not out to kill anyone. There are some promoters who have refused to book us because of the type of music we play and how crazy we can make our fans."
