Billy Morrison Week: Day 4 "L.I.V."
antiMusic reports: Are you ready to rock? Then rock legend Billy Morrison might just have the album you've been waiting for. Billy really doesn't need an introduction to rock fans, The Cult, Circus Diablo and Camp Freddy are just some of the bands he's been a part of. And then you have Stimulator, a band that Billy formed with Terry Warville and Jason Bowld from Pitchshifter back in 1998. Now a decade later Billy is allowing fans to hear what they've been missing with the release of Stimulator.

When we heard about this album finally being released, we fired off an email to ask Billy to give us the lowdown on some of his favorite tracks. A few hours later he came through in a big way. So here is Billy to discuss his favorite tracks from Stimulator!

L.I.V.: No. It isn't a song about Liv Tyler! Its an acronym for something (that will remain nameless!). The song is about prostitution and a couple of people that I knew a few years ago. Its a really sad, shallow life, and I was around the whole scene for a while, watching these girls lose their soul and their respect for a hit on the crack pipe. Its absolutely incredible what we, as human beings, will do when we are in need of something. I lived with one of these girls for about a year and the emotional turmoil that the situation created became the basis for this track, a few years later (once I had crawled my way out of my own pit!!) ..."you stand alone, and full of hate. you close your eyes to fornicate"....how the f**k did I get the word 'fornicate' to sit in a song like that?!!

The CD is out now digitally on iTunes and limited edition hard copy CD is available exclusively from - www.billymorrison.net

Mariah Carries The Charts
antiMusic reports: Mariah Carey carried the day by not only having the biggest sales week of the year but the biggest of her career after her new album, "E=MC2," sold 463,000 copies in the U.S. to debut atop the Billboard 200 chart.

Back in February Jack Jackson set the first week sales record with sales of 375,000 copies of his latest "Sleep Through the Static." While it was a big high this past week for Mariah, last week's No 1 took a 54% nosedive. Leona Lewis' "Spirit" dropped to No 2 with sales of 95,000 copies this past week.

Tween fever is still high as the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert sold 47,000 units to snag the No 3 spot. Lady Antebellum wasn't far behind with sales of 43,000 to claim No 4. Now 27 rounded out the top 5 with 39,000 units sold. So in other words, the charts weren't very rockin' this week as the fans got popped instead.

Yoko Vs Ben Stein
antiMusic reports: Yoko's lawyers are working overtime these days. Yesterday we told you about a lawsuit she filed to stop a company from releasing rare footage of John Lennon discussing, among other things, dosing Richard Nixon with LSD. And now she's engaging in legal monkey business against a film staring one of Nixon's old speechwriters, who is also the man better known for uttering the famous lines, "Bueller, Bueller."

According to Reuters, Yoko has teamed up with Lennon's sons to file suit against the producers of "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" because they used Lennon's song "Imagine" in the film. The documentary film deals with academic and scientific discrimination from Darwinists against intelligent designers.

The filmmakers claim that the fair use doctrine comes into play since they were using the Lennon track for commentary. "We are disappointed therefore that Yoko Ono and others have decided to challenge our free speech right to comment on the song 'Imagine' in our documentary film," they said in a statement. - more on this story

Miley Cyrus' Memoirs of a Tween Pop Tart
Hecklerspray reports: Miley Cyrus has conquered every medium she's tried; TV, film, music, reputation-sullying internet underwear photos - she's queen of them all. But what about the world of autobiographies? Why, no. Of course not. Miley Cyrus is only 15 years old. For Miley Cyrus to write an autobiography at such a young age would be to insult the intelligence of her fans in just about the most unforgivable way possible. That's something we can all agree on.

Well, all of us except Miley Cyrus and the Disney Book Group, because it's been announced that the Miley Cyrus memoirs are coming out soon. We're especially looking forward to the chapter about how, by the age of 12, Miley Cyrus had more money than all of us would ever earn from a lifetime of backbreaking physical labour combined. Fun!

"I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me," said Cyrus. She said she hoped "to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams." - more on this story

More on Weiland's Stoned Temple Exit From Velvet Revolver
Metal Underground reports: Guitar World spoke exclusively with Slash in New York on April 17th, while he was in town to perform a benefit show with Tom Morello, Jerry Cantrell and Perry Farrell.

The guitarist discussed VELVET REVOLVER's split with singer Scott Weiland: "We had gotten to that point where we were resigned to the fact that we weren't going to be working with Scott anymore, even before we left for the last leg of the tour," says Slash. "So when he said all that stuff onstage [at a gig in Scotland Weiland announced to fans that they were witnessing the group's last tour] we were sort of surprised. Because we had no intention of breaking the band up. It might have been the last show for him, but it wasn't the last show for Velvet Revolver."

On the fact that Weiland released a statement alleging "certain individuals" were singing along with him onstage: "Scott was under the impression that our drum tech was singing during the set, which was why he walked offstage at that show. We convinced him that wasn't happening, but then the next night he said that Matt [Sorum] was doing it. He was firmly convinced that was happening, which it wasn't." - more on this story

Rush to Judgment
Blabbermouth reports: The Associated Press reports that RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson has won a round in a lawsuit claiming that he and his son were roughed up by deputies while being ejected from a black-tie New Year's Eve party at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Naples, Fla.

A federal appeals court says a lower court judge in Florida was wrong to dismiss a negligence claim by Lifeson's son against the hotel and the security manager on duty at the time of the Dec. 31, 2003 altercation.

However, an 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel upheld the dismissal of the rest of the claims by Lifeson and his son including the contention that the Collier County deputies violated their civil rights by using excessive force. - more on this story
