Radiohead Remix the Charts |
The controversy surrounds the band's recently announced plans to let fans remix the single after downloading 'stems' of the track from iTunes.
These stems consisted of bass, voice, guitar, strings/fx and drums and some are saying they were listed as individual tracks on the download site and therefore vastly increased the sales figures for 'Nude'.
- at least it's based on sales and not airplay.. more on the story here

Unearth Wrapping Up New CD |
Frontman Trevor Phipps comments: "Without going into too much detail about the new tunes, it is harder hitting with more groove than any previous Unearth material. If you were in the crowd at one of our shows on this last tour, you got a glimpse of what to expect.
"Working with Derek Kerswill as our drummer for this album has given us the chance to let the songs grow as they should, the parts build up how they should and have the tunes hit as hard as they should."

Love is a Beautiful Thing |
"Prayer of a Common Man," will hit stores next Tuesday (April 22nd) but we managed to get a preview of the album in the form of the first video offering from the album for the single "Love is a Beautiful Thing".
That's cool enough but we also have a few words from Phil about the song. Here is what he has to say, " I fell in love with this song the very first time I ever heard it. It reminds me of growing up back home in Virginia. It really paints a portrait of Americana. Every time I hear that second verse about giving away your daughter at her wedding it makes me tear up. In a way, the song reminds me of every family reunion or get together we had in my family."

Get Withered in June |
"Our new record is officially completed and we're very satisfied," the band says. "Thanks to everyone involved, some very cool things have fallen into place for this release. Most of you are already aware of Barney Greenway's (Napalm Death) guest vocal appearance on "...The Fated Breath" and "Clamor Beneath." As always, his vocals are amazing and can't wait for everyone to hear them.
"Also, the last song on the album is a cover song called 'Into Armageddon' by Necrophobic. If you're not already a fan of them, you need to be. They're in our top friends and some of the best black metal to ever come out of Sweden so check them out. Big thanks to them for being very cool about us recording their song and for writing it in the first place."

Get Outta Grace's Tree |
The song showcases the band's strong roots and blues foundation. Although they comfortably stretch themselves a bit from that home base on their most recent release, This Is Somewhere, "Outta My Tree" is right in the Nocturnals' wheelhouse and they hit it right outta the park.

Over the Rhine in Ohio |
Released in 2003, OHIO was awarded five out of five stars by Paste magazine and chosen as the #1 album of the year by WNKU listeners. Pop Matters and others called OHIO a masterpiece, and All Music Guide described it as "a cry from the ravaged heartland, and necessary, ambitious pop music." The album received BBC airplay and showed up on various top ten lists around the world.
A few years after the release of OHIO, a panel of critics, musicians and journalists voted Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist to Paste magazine's list of 100 Best Living Songwriters."OHIO celebrated the music that Karin and I grew up with," says Linford. "It's a Midwestern melting pot of rock 'n' roll, gospel, old country and western, and R&B. It marked a little bit of a creative revival for Karin and I, so it's a special record for us."
