Winehouse Settles Songwriting Suit |
Gigwise has the report: Amy Winehouse has settled a copyright infringement suit over a song from her album 'Back To Black' out of court. The singer has agreed to pay songwriter and producer P*Nut - real name John Harrison - a share of the copyright from the song and payment of costs for co-writing the song 'He Can Only Hold Her'.
P*Nut received only a thankyou, and no songwriting credit, when the album was released last year. His solicitor says, "This represents a very satisfactory outcome for P*Nut, who considered his contribution to the song to be perfectly obvious."- more on this story

Sister Hazel Announce Santa's Playlist |
The making of the record became a unique endeavor in and of itself. Lead singer Ken Block explains: "We were all really motivated to make this CD, but in order for us to finish it in time for this year's holiday, we had to do a lot of tracking on the road. We recorded in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Dallas, and Gainesville while we were touring. That in itself created a great energy. It was a lot of work, but we had a blast." That was not the only new experience for the Hazel boys. "Each of us got to bring in three songs and produce them," explains guitarist Ryan Newell. "Being in a band with five equal voices, it was a great experience to see each one of us take turns in the producer seat," adds vocalist/guitarist Drew Copeland. - more on this story

Snoop Balls For Charity |
"We are excited about Snoop Dogg's live performance and his involvement with the show," says Ball producer Howard Mauskopf, "but we are blown away by his generosity. This is a true case of an artist doing the right thing. Snoop's people came up with the idea for all the initial money to go to a neighborhood charity called The Healing Circle these are mothers who have lost children to inner city violence. The Healing Circle provides support for them, as they have already suffered the worst loss a mother can suffer, and are so easily forgotten by our harsh society. We think these are the most real victims of violent crime. We also like the fact that this is a charity you don't read about in the society pages no fancy dinners here. Money is paid directly to those in need; we sincerely hope to change lives. Snoop is doing a wonderful thing. We're just glad the Ball can assist."- more on this story
From Autumn To Ashes Correction |
We apologize to Josh for getting that wrong. He didn't issue a statement about his decision to leave the band but the band did and had this to say: "We will miss Josh Newton very much and have enjoyed the last 3 years of making music together. We could have never survived the hardships of the last year and could have never rebuilt the band without his efforts and humor. I'm sure whatever he does next will be amazing so keep your eyes and ears open for that."
The regrouped From Autumn To Ashes will head out on tour with Silverstein, Strike Anywhere, And A Day To Remember on October 2nd. Dates etc etc can be found- here
