Winehouse Settles Songwriting Suit
antiMusic reports: The last thing Amy Winehouse needs to worry about right now is claiming songwriting credits for songs she didn't fully write herself. Amid all of the drug abuse controversies surrounding the singer she must have had a momement of clarity because she decided that a legal battle with someone named P*Nut over credits and royalty for a song wasn't worth the effort. So she's giving the producer/songwriter with a silly name his due.

Gigwise has the report: Amy Winehouse has settled a copyright infringement suit over a song from her album 'Back To Black' out of court. The singer has agreed to pay songwriter and producer P*Nut - real name John Harrison - a share of the copyright from the song and payment of costs for co-writing the song 'He Can Only Hold Her'.

P*Nut received only a thankyou, and no songwriting credit, when the album was released last year. His solicitor says, "This represents a very satisfactory outcome for P*Nut, who considered his contribution to the song to be perfectly obvious."- more on this story

Project/Object Announce Fall Surge for Zappa Music
PR reports: Project/Object, the acclaimed and internationally known Frank Zappa repertoire band, is back with its "Fall Surge for Zappa Music" tour, October 10 thru 24, 2007. With former Zappa vocalist/saxophonist Napoleon Murphy Brock as the focal point of this particular installment of Project/Object, longtime fans can expect a unique and fresh lineup from the seasoned touring band - highlighting not only material from Brock's albums and tours with Zappa that started in 1974 - but also many tracks people have not heard him sing before. Napoleon's soulful vocals, and "exotic dancing" as Frank used to call it -- will help make Project/Object's fall tour a phenomenon. Brock is fresh off his lengthy stint as lead vocalist for Dweezil Zappa's ZPZ tour, and with Project/Object he just played the highlight set to record attendance at the annual Zappanale festival in Germany in August 2007.

Project/Object continually seeks to celebrate this successful insurgency into the minds of so many brand new young fans, as well as seasoned Zappa listeners. Featuring: Napoleon Murphy Brock - sax, vocals * Andre' Cholmondeley - guitar, vocals * Dave Johnsen - bass, vocals * Eric Slick - drums, vocals, electronics * Eric Svalgard - keys, vocals and special guests!- more on this story

Sister Hazel Announce Santa's Playlist
PR reports: Gainesville, Florida five-piece Sister Hazel is planning to release a holiday record on September 25th. Entitled "Santa's Playlist," it incorporates classics and standards remade in their own unique way, obscure Christmas tunes, and several of the band's originals. The album, which comes in response to countless requests from fans, follows the release of a b-sides disc, "BAM! Volume 1," back in June, as well as the band's latest studio album, "Absolutely," which was released in October 2006.

The making of the record became a unique endeavor in and of itself. Lead singer Ken Block explains: "We were all really motivated to make this CD, but in order for us to finish it in time for this year's holiday, we had to do a lot of tracking on the road. We recorded in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Dallas, and Gainesville while we were touring. That in itself created a great energy. It was a lot of work, but we had a blast." That was not the only new experience for the Hazel boys. "Each of us got to bring in three songs and produce them," explains guitarist Ryan Newell. "Being in a band with five equal voices, it was a great experience to see each one of us take turns in the producer seat," adds vocalist/guitarist Drew Copeland. - more on this story

Snoop Balls For Charity
PR reports: The Exotic Erotic Ball proudly announced that it has combined with legendary rap artist, Snoop Dogg, to raise much-needed funds for The Healing Circle. Snoop Dogg will perform live at a benefit concert at the Cow Palace on Friday evening, October 26, 2007, during the hours of the Exotic Erotic Expo. The Ball's initial $45,000 deposit for Snoop's services was committed to The Healing Circle in a personal presentation made by Snoop on August 12,2007. Additional funds for the Healing Circle will be raised when Snoop Dogg performs live on Friday, and then returns Saturday night at the Ball, where he will join Tera Patrick and Danny Bonaduce as judges of the Ball's World Famous Costume Contests.

"We are excited about Snoop Dogg's live performance and his involvement with the show," says Ball producer Howard Mauskopf, "but we are blown away by his generosity. This is a true case of an artist doing the right thing. Snoop's people came up with the idea for all the initial money to go to a neighborhood charity called The Healing Circle these are mothers who have lost children to inner city violence. The Healing Circle provides support for them, as they have already suffered the worst loss a mother can suffer, and are so easily forgotten by our harsh society. We think these are the most real victims of violent crime. We also like the fact that this is a charity you don't read about in the society pages no fancy dinners here. Money is paid directly to those in need; we sincerely hope to change lives. Snoop is doing a wonderful thing. We're just glad the Ball can assist."- more on this story

From Autumn To Ashes Correction
antiMusic reports: A quick correction to last Friday's story about From Autumn To Ashes. Josh Newton contacted to let us know about a big error in our story. Turns out that Josh decided to leave the band and they then invited Mike Pilato to rejoin them.

We apologize to Josh for getting that wrong. He didn't issue a statement about his decision to leave the band but the band did and had this to say: "We will miss Josh Newton very much and have enjoyed the last 3 years of making music together. We could have never survived the hardships of the last year and could have never rebuilt the band without his efforts and humor. I'm sure whatever he does next will be amazing so keep your eyes and ears open for that."

The regrouped From Autumn To Ashes will head out on tour with Silverstein, Strike Anywhere, And A Day To Remember on October 2nd. Dates etc etc can be found- here
