Dire Straits Better Than The Beatles, Nirvana but not the Boss
Gigwise reports: Bruce Springsteen's Born In The USA' has been voted the greatest rock album of all time in a new poll. The 1984 album beat off competition from bands including Nirvana and The Clash to top the survey, which was carried out in conjunction with a new BBC rock documentary.

[for some very strange reason] Dire Straits 1985 album Brothers In Arms,' came in at number two in the poll, just ahead of Nirvana's seminal 1991 album, Nevermind,' which was described as a "snapshot of those times."

Other notable bands to make the top ten included The Clash with London Calling,' and the White Album' by The Beatles. [see the full story for the full questionable Top 10 where Vanilla Ice and Snow should have been on top] - Click Here for the Full Story

Sinn Fired From Angels & Airwaves
punkbands reports: According to another site, Angels & Airwaves have suffered their first casualty. Ryan Sinn is apparently no longer with the band. In a long statement posted on Absolutepunk, he says "I recieved a phone call the evening of April 19th that concluded my relationship with Angels And Airwaves. I could go into an entire novel about my opinions of the whole matter and why I was given the axe, but to me, throwing dirt just seems desperate and tabloidial.

"All I'll say as to why I was kicked out, the reasons I was given weren't at all honest, and severely hippocritical to the point of abhorrent disgust."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

H2O in Hotel Fire
punkbands reports: So I wake up this morning and get ready for work. While getting dressed, I'm watching the New York City Fox affilliate. There's a report about a hotel fire in Midtown. No big deal, sh*t happens. Then they play a soundbite from Toby Morse from H2O. What the f**k? I had to do a double take. He had to be evacuated and moved to a new hotel but otherwise ok. They even called him a tourist... in NYC. Crack reporting at it's best.- Click Here for the Full Story

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Monday he was sending a bill to Congress--the Intellectual Property Protection Act of 2007--that would toughen penalties for repeat offenders. He also said he would "hit criminals in their wallets" by boosting restitution and ensuring all ill-gotten gains are forfeited, as well as any property used to commit the crimes.[this is unless they are undocumented infringers, they get a free pass because they are stealing material Americans won't steal. see full story for more news]- Click Here for the Full Story
