The video, an homage to all of the beautiful and alluring mothers everywhere, is currently featured on the home page of YouTube and has drawn over 500,000 plays in the span of 72 hours, good for #1 most watched music video and #2 most watched overall video on the service. Akercocke Antichrist Censored
PR reports: The forthcoming album from Akercocke, abruptly titled Antichrist', has run into more controversy. The provocative nature of the record has already led to problems in Ireland, where the band will take part in a live discussion on the Nolan Live' show on BBC1 Northern Ireland next Wednesday at 10.45pm with members of the Irish Catholic clergy.

Now the album has run into problems in the US, where the pressing plant handling the production of the album, Disc USA, has refused to handle the record due its anti-Christian' perspective. Commenting on the decision, Akercocke frontman Jason Mendonca stated: "I rather perturbed that in this day and age, the 21st Century, people are so uptight. Whatever happened to freedom of speech and freedom of expression in the alleged democracy of the USA? Censorship is always ugly no matter how you view it. It smacks of fascism to me." [welcome to the 21st century in the US where special interests on both sides would rather silence then debate, just ask Imus]

Akercocke's Antichrist' is currently set for May 28 release in UK/Europe, with an American release due on July 17.- Click Here for the Full Story

Stroke 9 Set June Release
PR reports: Stroke 9, the band that made little black backpacks infamous back in the day, are back with more of their brand of sunny, slightly quirky, California rock music. Their new album, "Last Of The International Playboys," is due out on June 5th. The album cover is decorated with drawings created by a friend of the band which pictures the band members jaunty garb. The record follows on the heels of "Café Cuts," the acoustic collection the band released last year on Rock Ridge Music.

Lead singer Luke Esterkyn is pleased that the band is operating in the indie arena via Rock Ridge Music the past few years and attributes the longevity of the band to "our ability to adapt to a rapidly-changing business. We put out as much music as we can and give away our old stuff on MySpace. It is a scenario that works well for us."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Twisted Star Wars Encounter
PR reports: In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars saga, Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French has been interviewed by the mysterious Maul Stanley (a parody hybrid of Star Wars character Darth Maul and Kiss guitarist Paul Stanley). As part of this special week-long event, Maul Stanley has also interviewed members of Poison, Cinderella and Quiet Riot regarding their own unique Star Wars experiences. An excerpt from the Jay Jay French interview follow:

Maul Stanley: What are your memories of the first time seeing a Star Wars movie? - Jay Jay French: I saw the first Star Wars when it came out in 1977 and I saw The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. Then in 1983, I was in England with Twisted Sister when I happened to spot an advertisement in the London Times. It was for a special one-time showing of all three Star Wars movies, including the premiere of Return of the Jedi. I don't think I told anybody else in the band about it but since I had nothing else on the schedule for that night, I just headed over to the theater. Miraculously enough, I was able to buy a ticket and walk right in. Even more amazing, everybody in the audience was in costume! It was like I'd walked into a big masquerade party or something. So there I was, sitting in the theater surrounded by all these people dressed up as Star Wars characters, trying to figure out what was going on. Then some other people came out to address the audience, giving speeches and telling us that it was a very special occasion, that we were going to be the first to see the new Star Wars movie, that we were not going to believe our eyes and so on and so forth.

It was then revealed to us that the Star Wars actors were all in attendance that night! One by one they were introduced, including David Prowse dressed as Darth Vader! He then took off his helmet and said, "I am not James Earl Jones!" It was fantastic. Then to top everything off, George Lucas himself made an appearance! It was all just absolutely incredible. For something I'd heard about completely by accident, it turned out to be an experience I will never, ever forget. That night I got to be a part of something very special in Star Wars history.[see full story for the full interview]- Click Here for the Full Story
