TRL
No Longer Totally Live |
Idolator.com reports: During the mass bloodletting
at MTV last month, Christina Norman sent out a memo stressing that afternoon
countdown show TRL would continue to air, although it would "operate more
efficiently downstairs." What did that mean, we wondered? Well, now we
know:
Two weeks ago, MTV began taping ''Total
Request Live'' two days a week in an effort to save money. After live shows
air Monday and Wednesday afternoons, shows are then taped for the following
day.
''Total Request Taped''? No, the show's
title won't be adjusted for the less-than-live days, spokeswoman Marnie
Black said Tuesday.[see full story for more]- Click

Skitzo Rocker Hospitalized |
Blabbermouth reports: Lance Ozanix of the
California-based band SKITZO was admitted to the hospital late last night
after suffering from severe stomach pain. After being seen by the emergency
doctor, it has been concluded that Lance has a Mallory-Weiss tear. His
doctors say this is a major complication due to his repeated antics on
stage of vomiting on himself and fans.
This comes just a month before the release
of the band's latest full-length album "Five Point Containment". Open Grave
Records' James Mattern said in a statement, "We are really upset to hear
about Lance. He's a great guy and a hell of a performer. We hope he gets
well soon.'[see full story for more]- Click

Replace Pots with Sitar? |
KNAC reports: Metallica lead guitarist Kirk
Hammett said in the latest issue of So What!, the band's official fan club
magazine, that many of the songs on the band's new album have a "Middle
Eastern" or "Arabic" sound to them. Hammett explained, "There is a really
unusual theme that's working its way into the music. I'm not really sure
how to react to it... a lot of the music has an eastern harmonic flair
to it, a harmonic minor flair to it, and when I say harmonic minor... those
sounds are distinctly Arabic sounding or Middle Eastern sounding, and you
hear them in all the songs."[see full story for more]-
