Chris Shinn Returns with Everything Is Energy
PR reports: Chris Shinn, formerly with Unified Theory, is hitting the road to spread the word about his new band, Everything Is Energy. They're performing in Hollywood on Thursday, April 12 at King King at 10:30pm.

After Unified Theory dissolved in 2001, Chris spent the next few years forming the band now known as Everything Is Energy. However, that didn't come without some personal sacrifice. After troubling health issues lead to self-medicating, Chris checked himself into a treatment facility where he was able to get healthy and subsequently start his music career refreshed and more balanced. As Chris says, "All I hoped was to never again feel the way I did going into rehab. I wanted my voice back." Chris spent the better part of the next year coming to terms with his addiction to alcohol and putting his emotional well being first. "Just like most things with me, putting these things first in my life had to be learned." "Being able to play music with people I love and make the sort of records we want is success," he continues. "That is the truth! Before recovery, I felt owed. Living in the sickness prevented me from living honestly. Now, living in the truth prevents me from that sickness."

To check out four songs from the forthcoming disc, please head over to Everything Is Energy's Myspace page at the full story link. - Click Here for the Full Story

Destroy All Monsters DVD
PR reports: DESTROY ALL MONSTERS' "GROW LIVE MONSTERS" is a selection from short home-made no-budget 8mm, super 8 and 16mm film fantasies made between 1971-1976. Most of the films revolved around a group of friends and the wall of noise they would create in basement cellars and in live performance. This was Destroy All Monsters, one of the most avant-garde "bands" of all time. Featuring artists Niagra, Jim Shaw, Cary Loren and Mike Kelley, Destroy All Monsters is like nothing else. Ever. Psychedelic meets noise meets high and low brow art in a Midwestern blender. Say goodbye to your retinas. MVD will release the DVD on 04/24/2007- Click Here for the Full Story

....Sevendust - Alpha
The good news is that Alpha sees Sevendust continuing the return to their heavier roots that was seen on Next--not that 2003's Seasons was soft by any means, Alpha is probably has the largest number of bludgeoning riffs since 1999's sophomore release Home.- Read the full Sevendust - Alpha review

....The Strays - Le Futur Noir
The Strays: toss in a spoonful of the Clash, a dash of the political lean of Dead Kennedys, add a pinch of Nirvana and a half cup of the New York Dolls and bake for an hour. I think I caught a whiff of the Stooges as well, but that might just be my feet. (3 stars) - Read the full The Strays - Le Futur Noir review
