Boston Singer Death A Suicide
sleazeroxx.com reports: The family of Brad Delp, the lead singer for the band Boston, said his death was a suicide. "He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers," the family said in a statement relayed by police Wednesday. "He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace."

Delp, 55, died Friday at his Atkinson home. Fiancee Pamela Sullivan found him. Toxicology tests by the state medical examiner's office showed that Delp committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning, said Lt. William Baldwin. Delp also left two notes taped to a door and letters to his family and Sullivan.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

And there's a sexual harassment allegation as well. Thomas claims in the lawsuit that he informed his boss that "Stevie Wonder had telephoned one of the sales associates late at night on her cellular phone." Jello Vs Dead Kennedys Pt ??
punkbands reports: Jello Biafra has issued a public statement condemning his former bandmates in the Dead Kennedys for licensing their classic song, "Too Drunk to F**k" to the upcoming Quentin Tarantino / Robert Rodriguez double feature, Grindhouse.

Biafra's objections specifically stem from the song's placement in the film, in a rape scene: The scene is actually in the "Planet Terror" film directed by Rodriguez. Tarantino himself is pointing a gun at a disabled amputee woman's head yelling "Dance, Bitch!" as the Nouvelle Vague cover of "Too Drunk to F**k" plays from a boombox.

Some people will do anything for money. I can't help but think back to how prudish Klaus Flouride was when he objected to H.R. Giger's painting on the "Frankenchrist" poster, saying he couldn't bear to show it to his parents. I'd sure love to be a fly on the wall when he tries to explain putting a song in a rape scene for money to his teenage daughter [not that his daughter would get the wrong idea from the song title... see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Tom Returns to Exodus
SMN reports: Guitarist Gary Holt has checked in with this breaking news from the EXODUS camp:

"I'd like to take a moment here and welcome back Tom Hunting to EXODUS drum throne. It was always understood that when and if Tom was ever ready to resume his drumming duties for the band, his seat would be waiting. Paul [Bostaph] always knew this, and was the first to say it upon joining the band. Paul and Tom have always been good friends and we, as a band, cannot thank Paul enough for his services on Shovel Headed Kill Machine and all the subsequent tours he did to support that album. We had a great time and kicked many asses along the way. Paul has given this reunion his whole-hearted endorsement with no mixed blessings and is happy to see Tom back in the fold. Now, some band out there may just become the luckiest bunch of suckers in the world, because one hell of a drum is on the market! We wish Paul all the best, and he will always be a member of the extended EXODUS family."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Lambgoat reports: Boston-based hardcore band Ramallah has dropped off their tour with Since The Flood and Seventh Star, and may ultimately disband, going on what they term to be an "indefinite hiatus." Here's a statement from the band:

Onesidezero Delayed
PR reports: The official release date for Onesidezero's self-titled sophomore LP has been pushed back to June 5th. The official explanation is as follows. "We regret to inform everyone that we have decided to push back our release date a few weeks to June 5th. As many of you might know, our original release date was April 24th, which also happens to be Genocide Memorial Day, a solemn day with many negative connotations within the Armenian community.

As a band with deep roots within that community, we felt it would be inappropriate to release our album on 4/24, so, with the support of our label, we made the agonizing decision to move it back, choosing June 5th as the best available date. We will, however, be participating in a very special Genocide Awareness benefit on that night (4/24) at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, and hopefully you can all make it down and support this very worthy cause with us." Pete Townshend's Method
PR reports: Today, as part of his Keynote Address at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin Texas, Pete Townshend is announcing the Method.

After more than 25 years of patient research Pete is launching the website he first described in the science fiction story behind the Who's legendary Who's Next album of 1971. The Method - designed by Lawrence Ball - offers subscribers the opportunity to create their own unique musical composition by 'sitting' for the Method software composer, just as you would sit for a painter making your portrait. The first example of this process can be heard, elaborated into a song by Pete, on Fragments the opening track of the Who's latest album Endless Wire.

A Vulgar Display Of Power For Charity
PR reports: MJS Music Publications (www.MJSPublications.com) announced today that it has assigned a portion of the proceeds from its new book, "A Vulgar Display Of Power: Courage and Carnage at the Alrosa Villa," by Chris A. to charitable causes. The Company's newest title will be released on April 14, 2007, and chronicles the lives of Jeffery "Mayhem" Thompson, Nathan Bray, and Erin Halk; three men who were killed on December 8, 2004, when they came to the aid of famous heavy metal guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott after he was attacked during a concert. As the book relates, Abbott, formerly of Pantera, was performing with his new band Damageplan at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, when thirty seconds into the opening song, a deranged schizophrenic broke into the club, bypassing the public entrance to access the stage, produced a 9mm pistol and fired three point-blank shots, killing the guitarist, and later, those who tried to save him.

Of the victims who lost their lives at the Alrosa Villa incident, Nathan Bray is the only one survived by a wife and child. At the request of the victim's families, a portion of all proceeds from "A Vulgar Display Of Power: Courage and Carnage at the Alrosa Villa" will benefit the Anthony Bray Scholarship Fund set up for Nathan's son. In addition to traditional book sales to benefit the Anthony Bray Scholarship Fund, several fund raising concerts and events are scheduled in connection with the book release, in which 100% of proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund and other charitable causes. Frank Thompson, the father of Jeffery "Mayhem" Thompson, has requested an event in the Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas area to provide support for a charity related to paranoid schizophrenia, which afflicted the killer. Other events include a concert at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio on April 13; a Great White concert at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 4; and a concert featuring the band Smoke, at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ on May 12.[see full story for Morley's interview with the author of the book]- Click Here for the Full Story
