Lambgoat reports: Glendale, AZ extreme metal
unit Job For A Cowboy has completed work on their highly anticipated full-length
debut, entitled Genesis. The fast-rising band, known for their punishing
songs, explosive live performances and forward thinking vision, will release
Genesis on May 15 via Metal Blade Records.
Job For A Cowboy, who toured the world
in 2006 in support of their wildly-popular, self-financed "Doom" EP, recorded
Genesis at Blue Light Audio Media in Phoenix, AZ with producer Cory Spotts.

Lost Equipment Abstract |
Lambgoat reports: The Human Abstract lost
a good portion of their equipment while traveling in Missouri earlier this
week. Here's the story from band drummer, Brent Powell:
"We left joplin, Missouri late last night
after a good time at The Foundry on our way to Iowa City. I was the lucky
one who got the s*** shift (middle of the night driving shift of 250 miles)
and everything was going steadily by the time I pulled over for gas about
160 miles down the road. As I exited the vehicle and began to walk towards
the gas station I realized that the back door to our trailer was wide open...and
yes, this meant that it had been open the whole time during the 160 mile
drive. The result could have been worse...but still screwed us over royally.
All of our stage lighting (dimmer switches, strobe lights, flood lights,
extension chords, sweet old light box w/ vintage Doors and Zeppelin stickers
on it.......gone....easily a $2000 value.) My 12 inch tom, 18 inch tom,
cymbal bag, DW 9000 pedal.....gone - $2000 value. Everything else somehow
managed to stay in the trailer during the long voyage...but the damage

tinfoil.music reports: The Copyright Royalty
Board (CRB) has announced its decision on Internet radio royalty rates,
rejecting all of the arguments made by Webcasters and instead adopting
the "per play" rate proposal put forth by SoundExchange(a digital music
fee collection body created by the RIAA).
RAIN has learned the rates that the Board
has decided on, effective retroactively through the beginning of 2006.
(A "performance" is defined as the streaming of one song to one listener;
thus a station that has an average audience of 500 listeners racks up 500
"performances" for each song it plays.) [according to another article at
tinfoil, this means that "A station with 1000 listeners will now have to
pay $150,000 a year in royalties." So say goodbye to indie radio online.

Graduate Tour |
PR reports: After working the Midwest indie
circuit for years in two now-defunct Illinois bands, five longtime friends
finally joined forces in November 2005 to form The Graduate. The band quickly
recorded and independently released The Horror Show EP in April 2006, which
among other things, garnered them a record deal and the cover of CMJ Magazine.
Now gearing up to release their debut full-length album, Anhedonia (meaning
"the absence of pleasure or the ability to experience it"), The Graduate
are hitting the road with their passionate and charismatic rock, heading
across the Midwest and East Coast with a stop at SXSW.

PR reports: Finland's monster rock n' roll
band LORDI, who will release The Arockalypse March 20, 2007 on THE END
RECORDS, have announced several dates of their upcoming inaugural tour
of North America. The 'monster invasion' will start April 20th, 2007 in
Anaheim, California at House of Blues and end with a two-night stint at
the Bamboozle music festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

PR reports: Megaforce Records is proud to
announce it has entered into a worldwide deal with the legendary punk band
Bad Brains. The new album is currently being finished in New York and will
be released worldwide this spring 2007. Adam Yauch (MCA of the Beastie
Boys) produced the yet-to-be-titled Bad Brains album and it represents
the first recording, aside from Beastie Boys' recordings, from the Oscilloscope
laboratories and studio. The Bad Brains recently honored the legendary
punk club CBGB's closing in 2006 by performing three shows, which sold-out

Mayall Still The King |
PR reports: Eagle Rock Entertainment, through
its wholly-owned Eagle Records subsidiary, will release the latest studio
album from the legendary British bluesman John Mayall on April 17. In The
Palace Of The King is Mayall's 56th album, a tribute to the late Freddie
King (1934-1976). "He was a big man from Texas," sings Mayall on one of
the tracks. "He played an even bigger guitar. He was the king of the Kings,
born to be a superstar."
Mayall will support the release with a
national tour of the U.S. in April (including a stop at BB King's in New
York City on April 20). The Bluesbreakers consist of Mayall on vocals,
guitar and piano; Buddy Whittington on guitar; Hank Van Sickle on bass;
and Joe Yuele on drums.
