Dimebag
Murder Book |
BW&BK reports: A Vulgar Display Of Power:
Courage And Carnage At The Alrosa Villa is a new book by author Chris A.
due in February through MJS Music Publications. The official press release
follows: A Vulgar Display Of Power tells the true story of the events
leading up to the tragic murders. It peers into the twisted mind and background
of a killer intoxicated by psychotic rage and driven by the voice of the
beast inside his head. A Vulgar Display Of Power attempts to make sense
of what appears to be a senseless act. Unlike books that only focus on
the evil of the killer or the fruits of the crime, A Vulgar Display Of
Power also extols the inspirational selflessness of those who died trying
to help others.
Within its pages, readers will meet and
experience the lives of Erin Halk, Jeff Thompson, and Nathan Bray. In addition,
the book contains a moving tribute to Dimebag Darrell Abbott with contributions
from fans, rock stars and friends.[see full story for more]-

White
Rapper = Wrapper? |
AP reports: Their very names strike fear in
the hearts of white rappers everywhere: Vanilla Ice. Snow. Kevin Federline.
Though there are notable success stories - Eminem and the Beastie Boys,
most obviously - pale emcees often travel a hard road to respect. "The
White Rapper Show," a new reality program debuting Monday (10:30 p.m. EST
on VH1), is both a parody and commentary on race in hip-hop.
The setup is simple and instantly amusing:
Ten white amateurs are picked to live in an apartment in New York's South
Bronx (the birthplace of hip-hop), where they must prove their rhyming
skills and gain respect. The winner gets $100,000. [see full story for

Busta
Faces Assault Rap |
hecklerspray reports: We should have seen
this coming. Throughout Busta Rhymes' career he's warned us that he's Dangerous
and that he's Got Us All In Check, but we didn't realise he was referring
explicitly to any of his employees that dare ask him for money after Christmas.
According to reports, Busta Rhymes has
finally turned himself in to face New York cops following claims that he
beat up his driver Eddie Hatchett for having the nerve to ask him for 19
day's back pay on December 26. Busta Rhymes, already no stranger to legal
difficulties, now faces charges of assault and behaving like an almost
comically violent modern-day version of a festive Dickensian curmudgeon.[see

Apple
Sued Over DRM |
tinfoilmusic.net reports: Apple is the target
in a new lawsuit claiming that the company's iTunes, and iPod, are crippled
by the company. Specifically pointed out in the lawsuit is the ability
of the hardware within the iPod to play certain filetypes that have been
disabled by Apple and Apple's refusal to license their AAC digital rights
management schemes to other companies, allowing competing products to connect
and use the iTunes Music Store.
The judge in the case seems to think that
the case has merit and has quashed Apple's motion to dismiss. [see full
