Peter Bjorn And John USA
CMJ reports: Though they've already won over many American critics, appearing on reams of best-of-2006 lists, Swedish power poppers Peter Bjorn And John are only now officially releasing their most recent album, Writer's Block, in America. The record has been out in Europe since June, but stateside indie pop aficionados have the folks at Almost Gold, the new label partnership of StarTime's Isaac Green and Scott "I Manage Arcade Fire" Rodger, to thank for the upcoming February 6 release. George Michael For Hire
BBC reports: Singer George Michael has been paid a reported £1.5m for an hour's concert at a Russian billionaire's New Year party.

Moss Denies Shambles Marriage
BBC reports: Kate Moss has denied marrying Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty while on holiday in Thailand. 

The model and rock star reportedly made a formal commitment to each other in a beach ceremony on New Year's Day.

Coke Indie Band Rip-Off
BBC reports: An unsigned British band have claimed the music and design of one of their videos were "substantially" copied on a TV commercial made for Coca-Cola. 

Several dancing, swivelling characters were created to accompany Seven Seconds of Love's track Ninja in 2005.

Switchfoot Letterman
PR reports: With an eagerly-awaited new album, Oh! Gravity., available now, the multi-platinum-selling San Diego-based rock band Switchfoot will hit the road for a series of North American concert dates beginning in February (see full itinerary at the full story link).

The upcoming Switchfoot tour marks the band's first U.S. concerts since an extensive American tour which ran from October 17 through November 22, 2006. Switchfoot's Columbia Records labelmates, Copeland, will open the shows.

In celebration of the new album and in anticipation of the upcoming tour, Switchfoot will appear on "Late Night with David Letterman" on Thursday, January 4 (check your local listings) to perform the title track from Oh! Gravity.

Pantheon Set Release
PR reports: Pantheon I has set "The Wanderer and His Shadow" as the title of its upcoming CD, due on April 2nd through Candlelight Records. Clocking in at just over 40 minutes, the album was recorded and mixed by Christian Wibe at Nye Losjen studios in Sofiemyr, Norway and features artwork by Kjell Åge Meland, who did the front cover to the band's debut release, "Atrocity Divine". "Coming to an End" features a guest appearance by SOLEFALD vocalist Lazare Nedland, while Nachtgarm from NEGATOR appears on "Chaos Incarnate". Virgin reports: A BEAUTIFUL LIE, the second album by Virgin Records' 30 SECONDS TO MARS has been certified platinum for U.S. sales of over a million copies, the label announced today. The album was released on August 30, 2005.

30 SECONDS TO MARS just wrapped up headlining the MTV2 $2 Bill "Welcome To The Universe" tour -- also dubbed the "Environmentour" for its conscientious use of earth-friendly alternatives. They will next headline the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour which kicks off February 15th in Seattle. See dates below.

Wednesday 13 Tour
PR reports: Shock-rocker Wednesday 13 is set to perform in support of his latest release Fang Bang. Wednesday 13 originally emerged during the late 90s as the frontman for Frankenstein Drag Queens, an oft-overlooked horror-laced metal band that managed to issue five full-lengths between 1996-2001. The early 21st century saw the singer unite with Slipknot¹s Joey Jordison in the Murderdolls, a group that issued a lone release, 2002's Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls, before Wednesday 13 launched a solo career.

Carey Ott's Lucid Dream Release 
PR reports: Dualtone Music will officially release the debut album by singer/songwriter Carey Ott, Lucid Dream, on January 23, 2007. Illness Sidelines Ignite Tour
PR reports: Ignite have released this statement: "We are very sad to announce that our upcoming European tour from February 15. - March 10. is going to be postponed. Our singer Zoli Teglas will be undergoing a series of tests on his stomach at that time which will followed by surgery. Obviously the health of Zoli takes precedent over any show that we have booked. As soon as we have any news on when the European dates will be re-scheduled we will post them on our website and myspace immediately.
