Will Haven Lose Their Voice

Lambgoat reports: The reunited Will Haven are sad to announce the departure of founding member, vocalist Grady Avenell. Grady will be returning home to focus his energy on his family. Will Haven guitarist Jeff Irwin had the following to say on the matter: "It was a very tough decision for Grady to make but of course, family comes first and we totally respect his decision. He is still a part of the band as far as helping write material for the new record, he just isn't able to tour with us. LCD Soundsystem Tour

PR reports: Spring North American tour dates have been confirmed for LCD Soundsystem, kicking off March 30 with a two-night stand at NYC's Bowery Ballroom and continuing through May with a performance at Coachella, a special club show in Brooklyn and much more. Additional DJ dates with LCD's James Murphy and Pat Mahoney will also be announced.

LCD Soundsystem's "Sound of Silver," called one of "the most hotly-anticipated CD's of 2007" by The New York Times, will be released on March 20. Americana SxSW

conqueroo reports: The Americana Music Association has announced the lineup for their showcase at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2007. The show will take place on Wednesday, March 14 at The Parish in Austin. This event is open to SXSW attendees, and to the general public. 

Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Louvin kicks off the show at 8:00 PM. In 1955, Louvin and his brother Ira became official members of the Grand Ole Opry. In 2004, a tribute CD entitled Livin', Lovin', Losin': The Songs of the Louvin Brothers won the Grammy for Best Country Album. Austin-based newcomer Sunny Sweeney's debut, Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame (Big Machine) was recently praised by MOJO for her "voice like a lone star six pack." Alligator Records artists The Holmes Brothers bring their brand of rootsy, spiritual blues to the show. In 2005, the Memphis-based Blues Foundation named them Band of the Year. The phenomenal Ruthie Foster is renowned for her powerful voice and unique blend of blues and gospel. Her latest, The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, has garnered comparisons to Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack and Nina Simone. Jerry Jeff Walker's cover of Ray Wylie Hubbard's "(Up Against the Wall) Redneck Mother" was a massive hit back in 1973, and Hubbard's still cranking out great music, as evidenced on his recent album, Snake Town. Louisiana native Marc Broussard may only be 25 years old, but he's an old soul. Classic Neil Young Concert To See Release

PR reports: Neil Young's Live At Massey Hall will be released on March 3, 2007. On January 19, 1971, Neil Young performed at Massey Hall in Toronto, Canada. In many ways, this was a major homecoming event. He had left Canada in 1966, soon becoming a member of Buffalo Springfield in Los Angeles, then recording his self-titled debut solo album in 1968. That was followed by "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" with Crazy Horse, then Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's "Déjà vu" in 1970 and his best-selling album "After The Gold Rush." By the time Young came back to Canada for the Massey Hall concert, he had become one of the most exciting and successful singer-songwriters in rock.

Neil Young was performing solo that evening in Toronto, playing many of his well-known songs like "Down by the River," "Ohio" and "I Am a Child." But he also included several new originals that would be featured on his next new album, "Harvest," which had not been released yet, like "Old Man," "The Needle and the Damage Done" and "Heart of Gold." El-P and Trent

PR reports: Definitive Jux co-founder, emcee, and producer El-P's first single from his new album I'll Sleep When You're Dead is available today. Entitled "Flyentology", the song features Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The single will be supported by an Adult Swim produced video that will debut on Comedy Central. 

"Flyentology" was written by El-P after he experienced a near fatal plane crash. The emcee/producer has always had an intense fear of flying, and his worst nightmare came true on a recent flight. Shortly after take-off, one of the engines exploded and the plane had to make a rough emergency landing. In the aftermath of the traumatic incident, El-P reexamined his thoughts on faith and religion. "I realized that my spiritual life exists only while on planes. During the experience I found myself praying, and I don't even know how to pray. So this is my song about religion, which I think a lot of people can relate to. It's my admittance of being an a**hole who thinks he's better than God until the very moment when I realize that not only am I not, but I really, really want God to love me and take care of me," explained El-P.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
