Twisted Murder Mystery Deepens |
Howard, a former guitarist with the now defunct heavy metal band "Twisted Method," was found dead inside his Cape Coral home Sept. 16, 2005. He had been lying in bed deceased for approximately 18 hours before being discovered by a member of his new band "The Fallen."
Rebecca Hamilton, a Lee County medical examiner, has ruled the cause of Howard's death as undetermined and the case remains a mystery nearly two years later. Hamilton reported evidence of acute blunt trauma in the autopsy, which states that Howard's esophagus showed "multiple, irregular acute hemorrhages" and that his right sternothyroid muscle had "an irregular, acute 3.0 cm hemorrhage." Trent Explains NIN Year Zero Concept |
This record began as an experiment with noise on a laptop in a bus on tour somewhere. That sound led to a daydream about the end of the world. That daydream stuck with me and over time revealed itself to be much more. I believe sometimes you have a choice in what inspiration you choose to follow and other times you really don't. This record is the latter. Once I tuned into it, everything fell into place... as if it were meant to be. With a framework established, the songs were very easy to write. Things started happening in my "real" life that blurred the lines of what was fiction and what wasn't. The record turned out to be more than a just a record in scale, as you will see over time. Emerick Now A Paperback Writer |
Emerick's groundbreaking work with the Beatles included the landmark albums Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Abbey Road, as well as the singles Paperback Writer / Rain and Strawberry Fields Forever / Penny Lane. He has received four Grammy awards for his work with the Beatles and with Paul McCartney as solo artist (including the multiplatinum album Band on the Run), including a prestigious lifetime Technical Award, and many of his innovations have become standard practice in recording studios to this day. In his post-Beatles career, he has worked with a wide variety of top artists, including Elvis Costello (for whom he produced the albums Imperial Bedroom and All This Useless Beauty), Jeff Beck, America, Cheap Trick, and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. In 2003, he produced Nellie McKay's debut CD, Get Away From Me. [an aside for you... for what it's worth. When it came time to pick the best CD of 06, I didn't pick one. I picked the hardcover version of this book instead. - ed now see full story for George Martin's take on Emerick]- Click Here for the Full Story

Counting T-Recs |
According to Duritz, "The talent of Notar and Blacktop Mourning just blew me away and I wanted to be a part of their evolution. But I know that when you start a label you're responsible for the hopes and dreams of the artists you sign and that's a big deal to me. We're here to create a partnership with our artists, help them make great music and navigate the treacherous waters of the music business. Simple as that."
"My vision for T-Recs is an intimate boutique label," continues Duritz. "We're in the studio with the bands, talking to them constantly about their careers and their music. We handle everything in-house and we're taking on a very limited number of artists so that each band gets personal attention."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
