The project really started coming together when he joined forces with Anthony Saffery of Cornershop, who agreed to produce his songs. Together they booked the legendary Camp Street Studios in Cambridge, Massachusetts (formerly called Fort Apache) and got to work.
On this album, Smith collaborates with an assortment of talents, including producer Anthony Saffery (Cornershop, The X-ecutioners), Claudia Gonson (The Magnetic Fields), Terry Barber (New York Symphony Orchestra), Jay Ungar (principal violinist for the James Horner Orchestra Titanic, Legends of The Fall), and Rob Swift (Ill Insanity, The X-ecutioners, Quincy Jones). The result is a delightful fusion of sounds that blends folk, rock, electronica, and Steve's inherent songwriting ability.

Ricky has played with Cheap Trick before and remarks, "Cheap Trick are one of my favorite bands, I love playing with them, they are true rock n roll legends. It is a real honor to see out the old year and bring in the new with these guys."
Note: the Canyon Club website says that Cheap Trick are playing on the 30th and 31st at the venue in Agoura Hills (not Los Angeles). Ticketmaster has tickets for the 30th show at $55.00 and $85.00 and the New Year's Eve show for $75.00 and $125.00 plus all of their rape... oops convenience, service, facility and let's screw the customer charges. (They even charge you to use your own printer!) You also have to buy a dinner with those more expensive tickets.

Metro.co.uk: You've worked with a variety of famous musicians. With whom did you get on best? * Slash: I really got on great with almost all of them. Michael Jackson's record was a special moment, so was working with Iggy Pop, Lenny Kravitz and Ray Charles. A not-so-great one was with Bob Dylan. That was a huge learning experience. I was recommended for a guitar solo on his track "Wiggle Wiggle" during one of his darker periods in the late 1980s. I put a solo on there that I was quite proud of and put an acoustic rhythm track underneath it. When I heard it, only the acoustic track was there. Apparently he took the solo off because it sounded too much like GUNS N' ROSES.
Metro.co.uk: Will you ever work with Axl Rose again? * Slash: I always say "never say never" but it's not going to happen in the foreseeable future.

Using YouMail's free service, fans will be able to easily choose and assign greetings recorded by Jordin and Blake to play when certain people call their phone. Jordin Sparks released her debut album last week and Blake will release his on Tuesday.
These greetings are significant not only because of the caliber of content YouMail is offering users but also because it marks the beginning of a platform YouMail is developing for musicians and artists to connect with their fans in an entirely new way. Much like ring-tones and ring-back-tones shaped the way people personalized their mobile lifestyle several years ago, personalized voicemail greetings have the potential to take the idea one step further.
