Willie Nelson Drug Bust

TMZ reports: Willie Nelson was issued a misdemeanor citation for drug possession early today when his tour bus was stopped in Saint Martin Parish, Louisiana. 

TMZ spoke with a spokesperson for the Louisiana State Police who said "The tour bus was stopped on a common interstate vehicle inspection, and when the trooper approached the bus door a strong odor of marijuana was detected. The occupants were not brought to jail because it was not accepting [inmates] on misdemeanor charges."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

INXS Dropped

TMZ reports: After all the reality TV show hoopla that followed with last year's Rock Star: INXS quest to find a new singer for the group, JD Fortune and Co. today were dropped by their label Epic Records.

Meanwhile, this year's incarnation, Rock Star Supernova, may have to change its name after a San Diego judge last week approved a preliminary injunction filed by an Orange County, Calif. punk trio with the same name.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Metal Rape Arrest

blabbermouth.net reports: According to WDEL.com, ICED EARTH guitarist Ernie Carletti � who is accused of a 2003 rape in Newark, DE � is back in Delaware to face the charges against him. 

Newark police say 31-year-old Carletti waived extradition Monday (Sept. 18). 

He was wanted in connection with the rape of a 19-year-old University of Delaware student back in May of 2003. Other charges against Carletti are kidnapping and weapons possession. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Bob Crock Speaks

blabbermouth.net reports: Producer Bob Rock recently told Reuters that he feels "20 years younger" after his split with METALLICA, whose albums he had produced since 1991... A petition that some 1,500 fans signed subsequently was posted online calling for METALLICA to dump Rock, claiming he had too much influence on the band's sound.

"The criticism was hurtful for my kids, who read it and don't understand the circumstances," Rock says. "Sometimes, even with a great coach, a team keeps losing. You have to get new blood in there."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

"We're making the official announcement that we have to pull off the bill with KAMELOT [on Sept. 30] at the Pearl Room in Mokena, IL due to the lack of a singer. We were hoping that something was going to pan out but, unfortunately, it didn't, and we're still not any closer to finding the right singer for the band. MegaSoulfly Temps

BW&BK reports: SOULFLY bassist Bobby Burns will sit out the U.S. Dark Ages Tour after suffering a stroke last Thursday. Although home at this time, Burns will need lots of rest for recovery. 

Two bassists are stepping up to the plate for their Soulfly brother. The first is David Ellefson (formerly of MEGADETH, currently in F5/TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY). Ellefson will be the bass player through September 26th. After which, Danny Lilker (formerly of ANTHRAX/SOD/NUCLEAR ASSAULT, currently in BRUTAL TRUTH) will be the bass player from September 27th through the remainder of the tour. Shadows Fall Begin

KNAC reports: Atlantic recording group Shadows Fall is currently in the studio recording their highly anticipated major label debut with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Stone Sour, Rush). 

Says singer Brian Fair, "I cannot wait to finally get this started! We have been working on these songs for the past few months in the practice space and are ready to lay them down in the studio. Pre-production with Nick has been amazing. He is definitely on the same page as us, musically and personally. YouTube Brothers

SMN reports: Video-sharing site YouTube has signed a deal with media giant Warner Music to allow its material to be used legally. 

It means interviews and videos by Warner's artists can be used in return for a slice of advertising revenue.

Afghan Whigs Reunion

thetripwire reports: Greg Dulli blew our socks off during SXSW at the Levi's/FADER Trading Post. The Twilight Singers were definitely a highlight of our week in Austin, who have been out on the road promoting their latest album, Powder Burns. Fans will get another chance to see Dulli & Co. live as they kick off a second North American run in October. Mark Lanegan will be with the Singers as well, sharing vocal duties with Dulli throughout the nineteen date tour. 

In other Dulli-related news, he is getting the legendary Afghan Whigs back together later this month.
