Singer Suicide
Blabbermouth reports: Swedish heavy metal musician Jon Nödtveidt, 31, was found dead on Wednesday, August 16 at his apartment in Hässelby, a suburb of Stockholm. He shot himself in the head and was surrounded by lit candles, Expressen reports. Shortly before the ritual suicide, he sent farewell letters to his father and his girlfriend and explained to a friend, "I'm going away for a long, long time. I'm going to Transylvania."

Sometime between Monday (Aug. 14) and Wednesday, Nödveidt, vocalist and guitarist in the popular Swedish black metal band Dissection, chose to take his own life.

At 7:21 p.m. CET on Wednesday, a police patrol reported to the police communication center in Stockholm that a man had been found dead, the apparent victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to several of Expressen's sources, the singer had placed an open copy of "The Satanic Bible" in front of him before pulling the trigger.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Cantrell Assaulted
Metal Sludge reports: The post below was taken from the World Famous Metal Sludge Gossip Board. It seems that this unfortunate incident ended the concert abruptly. Hopefully the scum bag will be identified and arrested for this.

Got home a little while ago from Alice's free show at the Del Mar racetrack in San Diego. What was a great show ended abruptly during the second chorus of Man In The Box when some a**hole pegged Cantrell in the face with a bottle. He threw his guitar down and stormed off stage and that was it. Can't say I blame him. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Tuesday
E! Dishonors Dimebag
DiR reports: TV hits new lows every damn day but this is getting down there. It appears that the folks at E! are producing a show called "25 Most Chilling Hollywood Murders" and actually hit up the Pantera camp about licensing footage of Dimebag and want to re-enact his murder. Below is only part of the response Jane Hoffman reportedly sent E!. "I ask that you all please take a moment from your busy days and close your eyes. Live out the fantasy of playing your favorite instrument onstage. Your closest friends in the world surround you, either in the band or in your crew. From one side of the stage, a man approaches. Thinking he's a security guy or a drunk fan who's just a bit out a line, you continue to perform. Two seconds later, he lifts his arms, aims a rifle at your brother, your best friend, your buddy and blows his brains out, not three feet from where you are. In the nanosecond it takes you to comprehend the magnitude of what just happened, he does it again ...and again ...and again ...and again ...and again ...and again before taking aim and murdering additional members of your extended family as well as fans that have come to see you play. Two of your crew are shot but survive, but of course, will never be the same again.

Now imagine it's a few years later and you turn on the TV set. Just in case you may be having at least a five minute respite from that scene that plays over and over in your head, just in case .....you flip through the channels and there it is. Again. Only with some two bit actor who thinks this is his big Hollywood break.. The answer is no, and on behalf of everyone that was there that night and everyone that misses him every day, you can take that no and shove it up your collective asses. bin Laden Loves Whitney
hecklerspray reports: A Sudanese writer - who claims she was Osama bin Laden's personal sex slave a decade ago - says that Osama wouldn't ever shut up about how much he wanted to marry Whitney Houston and then kill her husband Bobby Brown. Although it sounds like a typical case of making your enemies less scary by turning them into figures of fun, perhaps this Whitney Houston information might assist the search for Osama bin Laden - all troops need to do now is to go to the Tora Bora caves and follow the sound of My Name Is Not Susan accompanied by wistful Arab sobbing.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Slayer Vs Stryper
Blabbermouth reports: STRYPER frontman Michael Sweet has commented on SLAYER's decision to cancel their previously announced appearance at the third edition of the Monterrey Metal Fest, which was to take place Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Coca Cola Auditorium in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. SLAYER, who were scheduled to co-headline the event with STRYPER, cited "personal reasons" as the cause of the cancellation.

Commented Sweet: "We found out a few days ago that SLAYER pulled out of the Mexico festival. According to the promoter, it was due to the fact that STRYPER was on the bill. We only decided to take the show when we found out that SLAYER was on the bill. We've always wanted to do a show/tour with SLAYER in order to reach out to their fans/followers but since they cancelled, we have decided to shoot a new video to the song 'Passion'.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
